The Tranquility database, when it comes to in-game locations. In-game browser bookmars get saved when you copy the folder named above ( %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\ )

I have a problem. When i open the launcher it opens just fine. But it is in offline mode. and i can't seem to fix it. Launching EVE directly with the game exe works fine.

Those would be the in-game locations. They're saved to the server Database. That's why you also have access to them on Singularity/Duality.

Did you try the solution offered from this Help Desk Article?
In the past, I had also sucess to restore Launcher functionality by renaming/deleting the launcher's cache folder. That one is located within the launcher directory within the client installation.

(and I still think it's a bad choice from CCP for the location of the launcher cache and settings)

Quick questions:

Do you have write access to where you have your shared cache?

If you were to move it somewhere you did (or update the privs on it) does this fix it?

(I have a suspicion about what it is)

if you right click on the folder (probably ‪C:\ProgramData\CCP\EVE\SharedCache or similar), and go to properties, there's a security tab.

On that tab, there may be an 'authenticated users' entry. If you select that, the permissions at the bottom will show what you are granted.

http://imgur.com/8sCdy7J is an example.

Just having a longshot idea that you don't have write access to the directory, except as an admin, which might cause it to screw up.

So I just did the upgrade from 8.1 to 10 and tried to run Eve and I got the following error message: http://i.imgur.com/DnHDo3g.png. This happens if I use the client to log in, or if I use the direct exe file. I have run it as an Admin, I have tried compatibility modes, but still this error. I even went so far as to disable my firewall on my PC and my router, and still nothing.

I'm currently about to try a fresh install, but I'd still like to see if anyone knows what could have caused this error?

EDIT: Same error on Singularity.

UPDATE: This now seems to be solved, though it seems to have been my ISPs modem rather than the Windows 10 update I did.

The one thing I did which might seem a no-brainer but some people do forget is after you upgrade your OS to windows 10 is to also make sure all your drivers are up to date... After I updated to windows 10 I noticed my performance was a little sluggish so I checked on AMD's website and sure enough there's a new driver with a whole host of new features and improvements for their cards and gpus under windows 10.. That and my performance went from sluggish to sexy, silky, smooth..

Finally got my Windows 10 download notification on Friday. Seems to be working great. I am able to launch w/o right clicking and running as administrator.. No FPS issues!

Also. I'm loving the new ALT+Windows+R! Awesome and easy to use free recording software. Not sure yet if it records my voice over the game or not... guess I need to check that out.

I upgraded to 10 a few days ago.

Generally it works well. I have the launcher issue mentioned.

Another bigger problem I have though is with dual screens. If I have one account open on each screen, the screen I have active is fine but the other one runs at a much lower dps, this then switches to the other screen if I make the other screen active. It's quite frustrating. When I click on the screen to make it active, there's also a little stutter where the DPS spikes and then goes to normal.

All drivers and such are up-to-date, I've been checking a few times a day.

I have the exact same issue - don't know if win10 has a different resource management than win7 i used to run....

Or it could be a new "feature" of the nvidia driver (win10)

I had that issue for a little while. (I'm running dual monitors and If i clicked on one screen the others Framerate would drop horribly.)

I solved it by pressing esc and under the graphics menu swapping from Interval Immediate to Interval One. I'm not running near as high of a frame rate on the 'active monitor' (dropped from 280 down to 140) but the 'inactive monitor' improved dramatically.

Just so people know:

Interval one is basically what's known as vsync. It locks your framerate to (around) what your monitor actually supports. a 60hz monitor would cap at around 60fps, for example. (60hz is far from uncommon with monitors)

so with your idea and me not having the problem and my friend having the problem

the rights into eve folder was not the same ... for me and for him ... and i explain why ......

so the problem was me ... i upgraded windows from windows 8.1 that allready have my (Microsoft account into a Microsoft account ****@Hotmail.com) and

when i check my rights into the eve folder into my documents .... is

system
denis teck (theteckmtl@hotmail.ca) (not the homeuser)
Administrator

when i check the friend rights on his computer is

system
homeuser
administrator

so just change the user home for your real Microsoft account (***@Hotmail.com)

you can do find in advanced for see it

and this bug coming directly because when he upgraded the windows 7 to windows 10 ... he upgraded into a local account ... and after in account they switched it to a Microsoft account ... that eve rights into folder never changed

so ... i call a Microsoft error on this part and i follow it to Microsoft in technet forum ... maybe other game can suffer of this kind of bug !

also check the right on document folder ... too

after deeping into problem ..

you need to take ownership of all files under my document and select under-sub too)

after add your account to the rights and select full rights ... (with sub folder too)

and you fix the mydocuments to all game

I've been playing for the last week on a Windows 10 machine, everything works fine and dandy. Only the launcher seem to have issues updating (the content it's showing such as the progress bar) if I dont move my mouse around, but I'm pretty sure that was happening with Windows 7 as well.
