WH Exploration + Sleepers

Hi all,

I apologize in advance if I repeat the topic that is already discussed somewhere, but is it possible to solo explore WH for data/relics and fight off the sleepers that guard these sites?

Solo roaming for this purpose alone it is prob easier, safer and more profitable in null.

you can hack c5 sites in a stratios with a specialised fit.

Depends what class your're looking for and what skills you have.

As said above, C5 sites can be solo'd in a Stratios, but that requires good mechanic knowledge, a specialised fit and good skills to support that fit.

You can run C1 and C2 sites in a passive fit Drake and mobile depot fitting for hacking or whatever. Or you could bite the bullet and use a T3. The issue is here you are going to be an easy target for your hunters. Expect to lose your ship and be podded.

You can mitigate the damage and cost of ship loss by either using a not to expensive fit and/or also by scouting out the hole beforehand..for example, not being stupid and running sites in someones home while they are active.

In lower class holes most of the loot from Data and Relic sites is in the form of the blue loot from the sleepers. You will also get nullsec relics and datas in low class holes, with no sleepers.

Remember, PvP will come to you. Happy hunting.

So far I've succeeded in hacking in C1 - C3 holes, and PVP came to me only once - I obviously lost, since I was flying Cheetah. Well, that I can do nothing about. However, I thought (maybe foolishly) that I might have a chance against sleepers, because it pisses the hell out of me when I scan a good data/relic site, get there, there is plenty of stuff to hack, and it's all guarded by 4 -5 sleepers.

In low class wormholes the cans are not really worth hacking, the isk comes from the blue loot and nano ribbons dropped by the sleepers. in pirate sites the loot all comes from the can but there are no sleepers.

There are a lot of people asking about non-combat explo in WH. Well, the thing is that WHs are not generally made for non-combat explo, think of it as of ratting sites with hacking bonus cans.

Low class have some null sites in there, but it's better to look for them in null. You can still use wormholes to get there if you want.

Future of T3 cruisers - multi-tool they aspired to be instead of sledgehammer they have become

Are the cans still worth the trouble? Last i checked and last i did them the relic and data sleeper loot was so badly price driven downwards it was not worth it ..happend around before confesor got released on tranquil.

Our C2 spawned 6 Nullsec Data/Relic Sites yesterday and no sleeper signature. Usually we get more nullsec sites than sleeper sites. Which is sad because we want to pew pew stuff.

Ladies and gentlemen, thank you, everyone, for contributing to this discussion. I have learnt :).
From my own little experience, my earnings skyrocketed (compared to what it used to be) once I started exploring with Cheetah in WH. Yes, few data/relic sites I find are "clear", so to speak, but some are with sleepers. Naturally, I'm getting greedier, and whereas before (and currently) I'm just giving up on these guarded sites, now I want to blast them and do both - hacking AND looting the kill. :) Is I dreaming?:)

FYI, I tried to use the strat fit from the vid I linked just yesterday. I must say it goes pretty smooth if you do exactly as presented. You can simply go daytripping with that thing and live off the blue loot. It ain't as much as some would hope to be but it's a start.

I for one am still a happy camper making a simple 50-100 mil per day. Easily achieved doing what's been done in the movie and some ninja gas mining with a prospect.

Props to the duder who made the vid o7.

The stratios Video is the best way to do it all, you will need a place to store loot as the Hull sections from a Server Bank are large and you will need expanders usually to get the loot out, A Data Field might need an extender too depending on your luck,

I use a Stratios for the Data and Relic sites, and would probably use it for the Non sleeper data and relic sites too as it tanks pretty well and the drones can do some decent damage assuming your caught in site running fit not loot carrying fit.

I usually get at least 100mill in hull sections on top of the blue loot in a server Bank the Data sites have been a bit worse of late so I tend to not bother with those if there is a Server Bank. Ninja huffing C320 or C540 is good money, A vargur I believe can quite happily clear the gas site rats, and makes mincemeat of ninjaing the data and relic sites too.

Ya, IF I ever clear the sleepers out of the gas sites (vitals/instrumentals). I do it with a golem. Not the most optimal ship to do it with but ... eh ... meh ... It works for me 'til I got Min BS V. But still ... Due to not having too much time, and just wanting to get in on some pew, I simply daytrip with an alt and ninja mine me some gas. Though ... Mining has always made my eyes bleed . So after discovering the strat vid, I think I'll lean more towards this method if I really wanna shoot red crosses with the odd chance of getting a nice loot drop.

Sleeper relic and data sites aren't worth hacking. Isk from low class sleeper r/d comes from salvage and tags. Look for the null sec r/d sites. Those have no rats and good isk in cans
