Milk goes bad in the Udder? I see your biology is on par with you IT skills! Roll

On a more serious note I am jealous of that set up. I just bought a new PC - the GPU at the beginning of the year but got the i7 devils canyon and DDR3 ram.

I have been waiting for the 980ti to come out so I can buy one, but am now waiting for the new AMD cards to drop and see if that effects the prices.

CPU? As long as the system isn't pre-overclocked for you, you would certainly be fine. The motherboard and its support software might be something you want to keep an eye on. The motherboard's bios may have a mild, preconfigured "default optimized" gentle overclock of sorts it engages on startup from a fresh out of the box state. Particularly as it will be a board designed for OCing along with an unlocked processor in the CPU socket.

Power Supply? Mmm. Rather than be offhandedly critical and make a specific suggestion, i'd say look to the various "series" Corsair offers for power supplies. The ###watt CS, RM, TX, AX, AX i, and similar all denote various intended markets, use situations and overall quality. Particularly as corsair doesn't afaik, make their own PSU's. Corsair simply rebrands OEM's PSU's. Off hand i want to say there are only? ... 3? 4? actual companies who genuinely engineer and build PSU's. Everyone else buys and rebrands.

Hydro CPU Cooler. Those water based coolers are great. Just be open to the notion of pump failure at 3-5yrs & associated replacement. 1% chance of water leakage too. But, it's mostly pumps wearing out that may be an issue.

Aside from the above feedback, your system looks very nice over all. Last but not least, keep in mind that the case will play a role in temperature of your parts (via multiple fan support, and airflow design), as well as the sound levels that emanate from your system.

Edit: Hard disk. Very pragmatically i'd say don't mix technology types. Hybrids are a mixture of SSD and platter based spinning disk drive. The SSD functions as a cache of sorts, recognizing files that are commonly used on the hard disks' platter. It copies them to a small SSD storage cache and effectively improves drive speed.

However you have a vast quantity of over all data on a typical spinning disk. An older, generally proven technology would be something i'd be more comfotable with. Not to slight modern SSD or anything of that nature. They're practically par with platter based discs these days for the most part, particularly with an eye to MTBF.

That said, If you wanted a build that had an eye to longevity, i'd skip the hybrid drive and look at a normal (all be it slower than ssd) spinning platter disk for general mass storage. TBH, this is a personal choice and you may personally prefer to look at drives differently which would be quite reasonable (as it's -your- data being read/written to on the drive).

At worst, - drives are the kinds of things people place a lot of faith, loyalty, hope and emotion into due to the incredible importance of the information they frequently hold. In that decision making environment, it's sometimes difficult to make an objective over faith/loyalty based choice as to what is good for any use case.
