Some bait is just too tempting not to bite.

For shame, GD. For shame.

Concentrated trolling accelerates the locking process... Actually has anyone done the propper thing and reported the thread?

I just assumed one of ye did...

too late for me to get in?

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

So, I guess I'll respond to this super directly, because that's what it needs to kill the discussion outright.

In EVE, everyone is equal.

When you become a citizen of New Eden, your age, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, biological gender, gender identity and any other factor that makes you who you are is irrelevant.

When you become a citizen of New Eden, you become a Capsuleer. Nothing more, nothing less.

Whether you choose to publicly share details of your real life persona is entirely your own decision, but we advise against it simply because of the nature of the internet.

Our EULA (specifically section 6. CONDUCT - A. Specifically Restricted Conduct. Point 5.), our Terms of Service (Sections One and Two) and our Forum Rules (Specifically Rules 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 31) all afford our players protection from harassment, and make any form of harassment in game actionable by CCP.

I can speak personally in relation to these policies, because I've been on the receiving end of harassment before I came to CCP as a player.

I've dated women and I've dated guys, and turning up with the latter at an EVE player gathering once or twice made me a target for a few people in game who thought it was funny to poke at it to try and goad a response from me as an ingame adversary.

I went through the proper channels, and the situation was resolved amicably with the assistance of CCP.

The simple fact of the matter is that at CCP, we're here to expand and maintain this amazing virtual world that we've built from the ground up with our community, and we don't want to be party to Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation / Equality Politics, or the ridiculous discussion that surrounds these topics. It's irrelevant to us, and everyone deserves an equal measure of respect and support in our eyes.

Bottom line is, we love each and every one of our players and for CCP, every one of our players is equally as important regardless of age, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, biological gender, gender identity, skin color or any other category that society attempts to pigeon hole people into.

We have our rules and policies, and we strive to make sure that everyone is treated equally and is free from harassment. If a player feels they are being harassed, then they should contact customer support immediately and we'll look into it.

It's something I can ensure that both our Director of Customer Support, and myself as EVE Universe Community Manager, take VERY seriously.

The fact of the matter is, diversity is a big part of the beating heart that keeps our games alive and vibrant, and it's something that we'll work tirelessly to protect and preserve, and will continue to work to make sure that EVERYONE feels both welcome, and accepted.

We value every one of our players equally, along with their contribution to the Communities that keep our games alive, and we simply won't enter into further discussion on this subject. Please don't keep bringing this discussion to the forums. It's not the place for it. Any further threads on this topic will be locked.

Our policies are there to protect our players from harassment, and if anyone feels like they're being victimized, they should contact customer support for assistance.
