They don't really capture "warfare" at all, especially in regards to how the rest of FW works. Whereas when you are plexing, you are working in a team(or solo), capturing "territory(plexes)", using tactics and essentially dogfighting and skirmishing. In FW missions, I feel like I am more of an assassin. Warp in, kill one or two targets and get out.

It doesn't feel like "warfare" and feels kinda disconnected from the rest of what you do in FW and I don't consider it a good thing. Am I over reacting? What do yall think?

I think you'll find assassination has always been a part of warfare. :)

In the mission running's defence, it does require you to head into enemy territory to complete. So whether you're searching out a mission target or an enemy gang, there's always the possibility of getting caught and exploded.

But beyond that - can you think of a better way to fund all the ships getting blown up as a part of FW (without requiring a non-FW alt)? I suppose you could have everybody D-plex farm, but I don't think that's a step up. You could try multiplying the O-plex value, but that's probably just going to end up with nobody defending. Having the PvP combat be an ISK faucet in and of itself wouldn't work either.

FW is already an ISK faucet. I can support my ships getting blown up just from plexing(and without stabs no less!). In my opinion, the missions are more or less pointless in an ISK/LP stand point.

My suggestion isn't a perfect one but I like the idea of increasing FW missions being somewhat "super" plexes where you go into a plex that has multiple NPC faction rats that you have to kill, followed by a commander that spawns after you have killed all the NPCs. Then you have a 5 minute timer similar to plex. During that time enemy militia can come and try to take the plex from you.

Random suggestion

Scrap FW missions entirely...replace them with FW Incursions.

This will then require team play across multiple systems helping to raise the difficulty threshold for farming a factions LP. (Death to the pendulum!)

Tie in the Incursions to sov mechanics - so if a faction ignores a hostile incursion and does not 'neutralise' it the faction navy deals with it but at the cost of x victory points spread across the target region.

You could have this triggered randomly or as an LP purchasable event (at a sickeningly high cost). This then adds an element of strategy to their use...if successful it can be the opening move in a full scale capsuleer invasion relying on the opposing faction not defeating the incursion to get a VP boost. If unsuccessful you have not only lost a load of LP you have given the opposing faction the opportunity to harvest LP and faction loot.

The idea is probably full of holes but it would make 'missions' more relevant to the faction war and hurt farmers (even though you can still game the system it would take longer to accumulate LP as you would be splitting LP across a fleet instead of soloing in a stealth bomber earning hundreds of thousands in LP with ease).

I do not like the idea of PVE content I'd have to do in order to maintain control of my systems.

System control is, and should always be, the result of a player's action or reaction.

Only if you aren't fighting. PvP is always a net negative ISK endeavour. So while a single fight might see somebody come out ahead, or a very skilled (and/or linked/boosted P) player may be able to pay for their ships, the people losing are going to have to find non-PvP methods of earning ISK. If you're earning ISK plexing, either you're doing it unopposed or somebody else is losing even more than you gained.

FW missions might not be great, but I personally find them more engaging than d-plex farming.

Don't you mean an ISK SINK? Tell me how are you gonna convert all that LP into stuff you're gonna sell on the market. Unless you're also talking about insurance from pew but that's everywhere not just fw.

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

It's a sink, not a faucet. The amount of isk injected into the game via FW is tiny whereas the amount taken out through the LP store is pretty large.
