Wardecced corps recruiting new players

Edit: this matter is now under GM investigation. Move along, nothing to see.

Yesterday a new alt of mine parked in a noob system received a recruitment mail from a corp purporting to be looking for new players, which suggested the 0.0% tax rate as an incentive to join.

Their recruitment spiel set my alarm bells ringing and failed to mention that they were under wardec, so I checked them on Zkillboard:

Destroyed: 8
Lost: 518
Efficiency: 1.5%

A good 50% or so of their losses are noob T1 ships in highsec, and all of the pilots I checked were created in July.

This corp is only 5 months old, and yet it has 8 completed wars and 3 active wars. It looks to me as if this corp has been created entirely as a trap for new players so that wardeccers can get easy kills.

Is CCP ok with this?

As a general rule of thumb, griefing and scams targeted specifically at rookie players, especially in rookie systems, are not ok. If you think that's what these guys are doing, you should file a support ticket, and the GM's will investigate.

It mostly depends on if this corp is corrdinating with the wartargets. If not its pretty much normal high sec gameplay as unfortunate as that is.

looks to me like killboard padding because they cant actually get a decent kill so have to resort to punching puppies

Calm down miner. As you pointed out, people think they can get away with stuff they would not in rl... Like for example illegal mining... - Ima Wreckyou*

Uhm... isn't that the idea behind pretty much every highsec wardec?

In a newbie system, probably not. Otherwise, seems fine to me.

One of ours, ten of theirs.

Houm... Are the players warned by default when they attempt to join a wardecced corporation? Question

Roses are red / Violets are blue / I am an Alpha / And so it's you

However it was done to a new character in a newbie system....
So they are preying on newbies in newbie systems.

And? He asked a question, "Is CCP okay with this?". I responded. If done in a newbie system, probably not.

I would not be surprised if CEO and Directors of the Corporation would be alts from wardeccer corp members.
I also would know, how many of those newbies will say bye bye EVE.
Be not wondering for poor retention...

I'm all for making people cry in this game. It's a part of what make it EVE.

But driving people out before they're even out of their trial...

Not good.

Padding Killboards = reason to do very deceptive things.

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

You realise this isn't their first wardec right?
That it's not our responsibility to ensure that their members understand what they're signing up for
and in fact should be doing so themselves.

Are they?

Is there any mention anywhere in their current recruitment process that they might be targeted?

Has anyone in the corp said or done anything to enable their newbros to defend themselves?

You realise lords.of.midnight is a teaching corp that is well known for recruiting players they shoot.

Bet you weren't aware we are actually already training one of the lads from that corp.

Also I guarantee you they will have been wardecked by someone reading this thread.

So...we have some sort of thread started by an alt, about someone we really could care less about, using mechanics that may or may not be legal, and this is running on assumptions?

Very much so.

We are hardly the first corp to have our way with them,
admittedly we are considerably better at hunting them than anyone else has been but that's hardly evidence of anything more than we are good at what we do.
