Issues, Workarounds & Localization

Hello all.

Lastnight just after DT I was able to connect and play Eve normally and had my share of fun. However as of this morning I cannot get the launcher to load up at all. It opens but all the contents oft eh launcher (the announcments, that scrolling crap in the bottom left corner and log in details area) refuse to load at all.

Now I have tried to do the repair tool to see if it's just something that went funny since my last computer restart however it is downloading at 650 BYTES/second, not kilobytes....bytes. Something like 6 HOURS to run the repair tool. So I tried to download something else from another service, Steam in this case, and got 4.5 meg/second average across 3 different program downloads and tested with some random game manuals from different sites and got 2-3 meg/second download speed.

Now I have been looking on the Eve Forums for anyone else having the same or similar issues, however the load speed of the forum pages is something in the region of 1-2 minutes to fully load a page so I am drawn to the conclusion it's something to do with the service at CCP and the connection my end. I also tried t load up the new medium citadel thing posted on their facebook page and that took 15 minutes to fully load, I took a shower, came back and it was still loading.

Now I know I've not got any blocks or restrictions on traffic to and from CCP as I have not changed any settings overnight, my anti-virus software didn't do any auto updates and windows didn't do any updates either.

Am I the only one here with this issue or is it happening to anyone else?


On a side note I decided to try to download the launcher and the 23 meg download is currently saying 3 hours 32 minutes till it is finished.

I would love to be able to play as it's my last day off for 2 weeks, but it's not looking at all likely sadly :(
