I was wondering with the rollout of Windows 10 in a couple of days and Windows XP no longer being supported by Microsoft, will EVE's minimum specs change from Windows XP to something else?

Don't give them ideas.
The more machines that EVE runs on the more alts and players we can have, which means more income for CCP.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

They'll probably up the specs to Vista/7 or above when XP becomes a security liability or is holding back development.
The fact that CCP are still supporting an operating system that is 14 years old and predates Eve is surprising in itself tbh.

On a side note Microsoft are continuing to support XP to a degree, extended support to business is going to be a huge cash cow for a couple of years. Many official bodies and businesses still use it, mainly due to budgetary constraints or legacy specialist software; some internal applications require IE 6 functionality and require recoding for other windows editions, the cost of replacing vast amounts of hardware etc are all examples of this.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

So, it's bound to happen some time in 2003 or so? P

Ugh..."Vista".

How I have learned to hate the freakin word. No other OS felt so damn broken and stupid. I doubt 10 could be that bad...hopefully.

WinXP is a support nightmare. Because of it's security vulnerabilities, we've had to firewall all existing XP boxes to isolate them from the rest of the network. Developers and Software Engineers knew this was coming but dragged their feet re-coding for it. It's just a damned pain in the ass.

Anyone else noticed how the last few patches to Microsoft stuff tend to make them worse or broken? Right from PC operating systems to phones and Xbox updates.

Yet vista saved people from the joys that was EVE eating the boot.ini file way back when :P
