The ability of one side to maintain a virtually unlimited stalemate does seem like a broken mechanic. Suggested change CCP could do: If you activate warp, your ship will eventually enter warp (say, in 2 to 5 minutes), irrelevant of its speed.

Note that this does not stop ganking, nor does it interfere with bumping ships on autopilot.

Except it's entirely avoidable by use of an actually broken mechanic, being able to web freaking capital ships into warp in less than a second.

The counter exists. Webs. Use them, or not. But if you don't, don't cry about the obvious consequences.

The clock stopped every time you logged off, negating your "more than 15 minutes" theorem.

Surely your posting here has limited any potential future bumping.

If you want to get technical, the intent is not for you to just roll another alt to do your webbing. That's highsec carebear thinking, attempting to be utterly isolationist in a MMOG game built on social interactions.

The actual idea is, if you're at the point of flying a billion ISK ship like that, you should be in a corp, with friends, who are willing to support your move op with webs, an ECM escort, and the like.

This is entertaining but I do wonder why nobody has picked up on the OPs name.

Which brings us straight to the problem of all these "Corps" that "do everything" but actually do nothing, filled with corp mates, "friends", that are never logging in and if they actually are they are too busy to mine and run missions by themselves and can´t be arsed to do something, anything, that comes close to interaction with their fellow comrades, let alone other players....

Pretty much. Eve is one of the few MMOGs out there that enables a degree of "give and take" when it comes to player corps. It's one reason why nullsec alliance types are wildly successful, and the scrub "do anything" highsec corps die. The good nullsec corpmembers understand that once and awhile, you need to sacrifice what you want right now for the good of the group. This makes the group overall a little bit stronger, and puts individuals in a better place when the time comes to rake the rewards.

Highsec...not so much. Why sacrifice running lvl4s just to help a corpmate set up a POS, move some gear, etc? That gets in the way of right now, and we can't have that. Hell, even talking on corp chat is too much of a burden for some of these folks.

Freighters are not meant to be flown solo.

I am not against ganking in high sec. Honestly I had a great time. But it should not be possible to disable a ship for long time especialy in high sec(and yeah bumping titans/sc from under POS shields etc.). I think we all agree on this.

Why do Code bother anymore? GD has a rather small audience.

Hmm...nope. People do argue what ships constitute capital vessels (often submarines start the argument) but they are always combat vessels. What are you basing this on, Eve's construction requirements?

Orcas, freighters, jump freighters, carriers, dreadnaughts, super carriers and titans are all capital class ships.

The only definition that counts in the context of Eve is that which is laid down by CCP; by that definition a freighter is a capital ship.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
