Dual Boxing - Combat Sites

Although the Ishtar is a fine vessel and more than capable of handling the null combat sites out in Gurista space I've decided to bring along another boat.

Currently I fly the Ishtar for primary dps and tank. The other box is in a Stratios for scout (covops), scanning, and relic sites when I come across them.

Ishtar is active shield tanked.

Stratios is where it gets a little interesting
Highs - cloak, probe launcher, 2 neuts, 1 remote shield repper(needed for a short moment in the 8/10 site I completely recently)
Mids - dual prop, cap booster, scram
Lows - medium armor rep, hardeners, DDA, etc.

At the moment I'm not in a real corp so always exploring in hostile space.

Just curious if anyone had any better ship comps and/or fit comps. Anything specific to help with dual boxing (assisting drones) would be helpful too!

Thanks in advance

Based on how much traveling I have to do as a solo pilot 2x anything above a BC sounds extremely slow and even risky(ier). Having the covops scout has been useful as well as having the ability to scrape loot from the Relic sites.

Ishtar or Tengu(which I have as well) + Stratios or booster T3 might be the only way to go without insane SP requirements (Black Ops)...and the price tag to boot.

Although a BS with a cloaky scout might work. Domi + RR Tengu? Is there such a thing?

HAM Tengu + drone proteus. Move proteus off warp in, drop sentries and assign to ham tengu. The proteus can be permanently left as claocky and carrying a mobile depo with cloak and interdict sub systems so you can switch it up.

I used to do something similar in a tengu with covert cyno and a sin. Mobile depo's are the best thing since sliced bread.. they should be carried at all times :)

... What next ??

I use Heavies for the rats and HAMs for structures. Flight time with HAMs seems to take about the same over all for me.

Second ship is a shield Loki sometimes or a Drone/Rail Proteus most times.
Only *bad* issue with the Proteus has been neuts turning off my guns. The Tengu can still fire, as can the Loki.
Loki tank kinda sucks and Loki DPS kinda sucks, but it's fitted and the pilot is skilled for probing, hacking, etc. Secondary DPS only.

Duel boxing back and forth: Tengu is shield tanked. Sometimes I look at the Proteus and THE SHIELDS ARE GONE! Then I realize it's armor tanked P

With the 'tar now rather more armour tanky from the extra low, you might want to consider a pair of spider armour 'tars since you're in Gurista space. The T2 RAR actually reps way better than its local counterpart - more rep and less cap, plus easier fitting. That said, the C-Types are even better:

[Ishtar, RarRarTar]
Drone Damage Amplifier II x 3
Faction Kin Hardener
T2 Therm hardener
Damage Control II

Drone Navigation Computer II x 2
Medium Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I, Cap Booster 200
50MN Cold-Gas Enduring Microwarpdrive

Corelum C-Type Medium Remote Armor Repairer x 2 (about 18m each but worth it)
Prototype Cloaking Device I
Core Probe Launcher II, Sisters Core Scanner Probe

Garde II x5
Hammerhead II x5
Vespa EC-600 x5
Ogre II x5

Cap Booster 200's

Medium Anti-Kin Pump I
Medium Anti-Therm Pump I

You can run one RAR without the booster/MWD on for about 3 mins for a 650dps tank vs Guristas.
This boat has a 1300dps burst kin/therm tank sustainable for about 2 mins.
1500+DPS from 10 Ogres
With dual Drone Navs, an Ogre II becomes a monster: 0.74 tracking (better than Hammers) and a max Velocity of 3380 which is actually faster than an unbonused Hobgoblin II.
Or go with twin ODLs and use Gardes - the point being that with a RAR armour tank setup, you have quite a few options open to you.
It's a tight fit but if you're short on CPU even fitting a second Faction hardener will still have this boat costing about 240m - about the same as a fully T2 fitted Domi (and a lot more surviveable in null)

The spider or RR fits seem to be the consensus here. 2xIshtar, 2xProteus, or Tengu/Proteus is what I'm considering for now.

Just curious, which tool are you using to find the DPS numbers for RR fits? EFT doesn't look to take that into account.

Also, why Ogre and not Wasp? I thought Gurista were weakest to kinetic, tracking/MWD speed must be the difference here.

He should be using Wasps.

I personally do not bother with RR fits. You can do just fine using 2-3 of the same ship with local tanks.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

I think you'll find that a Tengu/Proteus combination really don't have room to fit RR.
You would gimp the DPS or find yourself without a cloak fitted when things get hot.

Also medium RR won't have much range. Sometimes you need ships to spread out a lot.

In EFT's ship-fitting window, click on the Projected Effects button (bottom right). Then drag a RAR from the fitting window into the Projected Effects window, and you'll see the effect.
Only modules with a remote effect can be dragged in here, but it's useful for setting up a pair of identical spider fits. You can also drag in eWar mods, environmental effects etc.

..And I apologise - you should indeed use Wasps. I was thinking Serpentis, dunno why!
