Guys I'm going to buy a titan and yes they can take gates now, I am just looking for views from someone who knows alot about them. I know the Ragnarock is good because it has turrets so instant damage application, while the Leviathan has more tank.

Sigh. Things you should definitely know before even thinking about a titan:

  1. While they can use gates, they are definitely stuck in low and null. There are no high sec titans.
  2. Fielding a titan without support for anything other than well-planned drive by doomsday kills is absolutely, 100% suicidal. As soon as word gets out that you're using it without sufficient support, up to and including other titans on standby, you will be hunted down and killed.
  3. Titans still have trouble killing HICs in time to escape. More than one will be on field against you. Once caught, you either get help or you go down.
  4. You effectively cannot leave the ship. While there are technically ways around this the only somewhat sure one is to have a second character an a second account sit in it while not in use and even that isn't always a great idea.
  5. Titans cannot dock. Ever.
  6. Since titans cannot dock, they cannot be put on market. The only way to acquire one is through personal sale (preferably through a trusted third party) or by manufacturing one yourself.
  7. Titans can only be built in capital ship assembly arrays. CSAAs require sovereignty to anchor. Sovereignty requires... well, not as much as it used to. You just have to hold it through the month-long build.
  8. That month of building fails to include assembly of capital construction parts, which are required for the build. That adds another, oh, two months give or take.
  9. Cost of a titan should be 50-90b isk or $750-$1350 if you plex it. And I'm probably low-balling the price.
  10. If you get a titan on this character, locater agents will light up and you will be found within a week.

tl;dr? Don't get a titan if you have to ask anything about getting a titan.

Thanks for the information everyone so far. I am going to only use it with a support fleet and a scout. Also what was said about ratting, how much isk per hour can it get?

I'll humour you a bit though, so how big is your support fleet? Plenty of carriers and battleships on hand? I assume your alliance can afford a good size capital fleet.

(Hell your alliance must have more money than they know what to do with if they're putting you in a titan...)
