Advanced Ship Assembly Arrays, does anyone use them?

I know the question seems dumb given the fact that I see them on the open market, but given the 10% hit in mineral costs, does it not make more sense to use a station slot instead?

Or are these arrays the main T2 ship mfg methodology in 0.0?

IIRC, they're a relic of the pre-outpost days... same as the 75% cap on refining rocks in POS arrays...

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

They are for T2 production. If you are in 0.0 with no stations or outposts available or if you are inWH space its the only way to build T2 ships. Also, if you happen to own a BPO it allows you to build more ships per month which, depending on the print, can more than make up for the extra build cost.
