So this has been happening for MONTHS. I had a long interaction with the GMs but they told me I should just file a bug report at this point. Thought I would post it here and see if it happened to anyone else before I just give up.....

When I click "play" once in the launcher, this happens
http://gyazo.com/b851af941ebeb1220b30430a7c12f5ad

Both clients need to be forcequit and nothing happens. I have tried fixing it 100 times.

I tried removing everything eve related from my computer and reinstalling,

ive tried launching it from here /Applications/EVE/EVE.app/Contents/EVE\ Online.app/Contents/MacOS/cider

I tried fixing the launcher with the repair tool,

I tried downloading an older complete version of the client and then updating it,

but none of this has worked.

As a side note, every time I redownloaded my client the game would not install correctly. I would have to go into the launcher settings and download all the resource files. The game would tell me the client is ready even though the cahced files were only 500MB in size.

Any ideas?

I've never even heard of that before, and I have a similar computer also on 10.10.4.

Have you tried this:

1) Holding down Option, choose the Go menu in Finder and select Library;
2) In the Application Support folder, find EVE. It may have several folders if you have several accounts;
3) Trash them all, then Empty Trash, the restart to seal the deal;
4) Trash your EVE client in /Applications.
5) Re-download from scratch.

I have a feeling that whatever is borking your installation is in /Library/Application Support, which is why nothing you try is working. I hope this helps.

Hi. I haven't heard about that issue before, but I'd suggest first attempting to reinstall the launcher. The first post here has instructions on doing this.

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=414498&find=unread

If that doesn't help, please do definitely file a bug report, here:

https://community.eveonline.com/support/bug-reports/

Post back here letting us know whether replacing the launcher helps, and if you do submit a bug report, please go here:

https://community.eveonline.com/support/bug-reports/my-bug-reports/

and make note of the bug's ID number, then post it in this thread.

Thanks for hanging in there.

Hey, thanks for the response both of you. Even though I had tried the complete re-instal I tried it again because I hadnt tried it before with a restart in the middle. But it didn't work. Once again after downloading the client it told me the client was ready even though it hadnt completely installed. Here is what I see before I go into the settings and download all the resource files: http://i.imgur.com/3Sq8rRt.png

I checked and it actually told me the client was ready before it even created an EVE Online folder in Application support

I then tried downloading the new launcher as Darwin suggested and nothing happened. Same outcome. 2 clients that froze. I will submit a bug report :/

edit: just went to make a report and notice i had made on in february that had no responses and was closed about this same topic. I will make a new one

Can you provide a bug report number? I have not been able to locate either your earlier report or your newer one using your character name used to post here.

Edit: It would also be VERY helpful to include a copy of your launcher log file. You can find the log using the instructions here:

Just sent an in-game mail...

So - just thinking

Disk Utility - Might need to do some disk cleaning/permission repair.

Might not be EVE, but the OS doing something funny (I've know Macs to do weird stuff)

I don't know if your a Homebrew or Macports kind of person...

I use make ports and have it install wine and some other massive collection of ports. Most problems people have with EVE i've not ever seen...

I know the EVE client will now download as little as it can get away with downloading.

I wonder if the failure is there? If so, it should be in the logs.

If I could see your computer and see the problem - could probably fix this.

Haven't heard back yet. So thought of a different option as well.

Instal Wine,
Use wine to instal windows version of EVE.
There's a whole forum post on it. Plus there are a few groups that have non-cider wine versions of eve out there. Well, different easy to create a wine bottle to run eve in. I think one is play on Mac or something.

Here is the original bug report I made:

https://community.eveonline.com/support/bug-reports/my-bug-reports/details?issueId=EBR-33319

and here is the one I just made after you asked me to:

https://community.eveonline.com/support/bug-reports/my-bug-reports/details?issueId=EBR-43325

As for you, Amarisen Gream

All you said was to contact you, I don't know why though, considering all the info is in this thread already... lol
I think I will try wine this weekend. I will let you know what happens

Would it be possible for you to follow the procedure I linked above to get your launcher logs and attach them to the latest bug report (EBR-43325)? The launcher logs are probably necessary to identify what's going on.

Edit: Once again, here's the link to the procedure for locating your launcher logs:

https://ccpcommunity.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202664145-Launcher-Log

Edit 2: Also, if you're looking for the EVE Online folder in Application Support, make absolutely sure that you're looking in the hidden /Users/(your name)/Library folder and not in /Library at the root of your disk. You can get to the hidden Library directory in your home directory by choosing "Go To Folder" from the Go menu and typing ~/Library in it.

Hi, i had attached the logs to the report but apparently they did not submit... or something. I am attaching them in an edit right now. As for the library location, yes I have been looking in my users library and not the disk library

edit: ok I am getting errors when I try to attach the log in an edit. Here is a link to the logs. I will also add the link in a comment on the bug report

Thanks so much for the link! I've downloaded the log and will attach it to the bug report myself so that it can be available for the developer who looks into it.
