t2 ship descriptions

One of the things i've noticed in this game is that the only t2 ships with lore-based descriptions are AFs and HACs. I would love to see all of them get their own unique little description detailing their individual lore history.

Here's an example i made for what I'd like to see:
"The Rook was designed by Kaalakiota to be the end-all for front line electronic warfare combat, and provide tactical superiority in any situation it finds itself in. Boasting immensely powerful electronic countermeasure abilities and a punishing missile arsenal, it specializes in disabling the sensor systems of any ship it comes across and tearing it to pieces from afar.

Developer: Kaalakiota
The demand for a stronger, more combat-oriented version of the Blackbird arose over the Caldari Navy's concern of a lack warships should an all-out war occur with more factions than just their nemesis, the Gallente Federation. A renewed focused towards engagement denial has yielded very favorable results with combining traditional long-range bombardment and ECM systems, and Kaalakiota is leading the way in this style of combat with the Rook and its larger sibling, the WIdow."

I would be happy to write descriptions for specific ships should I be asked by anyone.

EDIT: I believe that i left out Logistics Cruisers as the other t2 ships with lore descriptions. As far as I know they are the only ones that have unique descriptions apart from AFs and HACs, but please correct me if i am wrong.

Write them anyway and submit them, maybe CCP will use them.

I like the concept and would like to see your descriptions for marauders in particular.

hehe alright then I'll do marauders. Smile

Golem:
"When the advantages of capsuleer technology became apparent to the Caldari, Lai Dai invested a tremendous amount of resources towards developing a battleship-scale weapons platform designed around this technology, rather than adapted to it. Building off of the Raven hull, the Golem is the paragon of a mobile siege platform. High-powered missile hardpoints allow it to hit harder, farther, and more accurately than any ship in its class, and the dramatically reduced crew requirements allowed room for immensely powerful defenses and electronic warfare capabilities.

Developer: Lai Dai
Lai Dai's development of an advanced battleship platform was met with great ire from Ishukone who had their own separate designs they had been developing. The Bastion system developed for the Golem is essentially a scaled-down version of the siege equipment on the Phoenix, but significantly more advanced and compact. The Caldari Navy declined to buy the contract for the vessel due to its immense cost and lack of practicality over their own equipment, so Lai Dai was forced to sell their Marauder-class battleship, as it came to be known, publicly to capsuleers.

Kronos
"The Kronos was revealed to the Federation public soon after the Golem, and it was hinted at that Duvolle labs had been involved with several parties in the development of an advanced variant of the Megathron for some time prior to the release of the Golem. Unlike the Golem, the Kronos was built directly from the Megathron chassis, rather than a reworked design. Following traditional Gallente design philosophy the Kronos focuses on blasters as its main weapons platform, allowing for unparalleled damage-dealing capabilities at short ranges.

Developer: Duvolle Labs
Much to the Caldari's consternation, Marauder technology that was sold to the public was also owned by the public. Concord denied any and all legal attacks by Lai Dai over the release of the Kronos, and subsequently saw the propagation of marauder-type ships to the other races. Federation Naval forces have adopted the Kronos as an advanced flagship for mobile operations, and have seen particular success in the Kronos' performance on the battlefield."

I'll post the ones for the Vargur and Paladin separately in a bit.

Here's one for your Paladin, and one for the Vargur. Hope you like it. Big smile

Paladin
"Having been a space-faring race for over two millennia, the Amarr had perfected spaceship design long before the other upstart races even understood the stars in the sky they looked upon. The Paladin was based off of an older, failed variant of the Apocalypse that had focused on very similar offensive and defensive lines to the emerging Marauder-class battleships. It was a simple matter to adapt newer technology to an older design, and when Carthum released the meticulously crafted Paladin, it sent shockwaves throughout New Eden as the power systems and many other technologies involved in its operation were unheard of prior to its release. The focus on sheer power on its weapon systems renders them less accurate than its standard equivalent, but the firepower and flexibility of this grand vessel vastly exceed any shortcomings it may have had otherwise.

Developer: Carthum Conglomerate
Like the Caldari, the Amarr were extremely reluctant to release their specs for their Marauder, but begrudgingly conceded to the demands by Concord and the larger interstellar community. The Paladin now serves as the most advanced Amarrian vessel available to capsuleers next to the Avatar, and a pure symbol of Amarrian dominance to the Empire's detractors and foes."

Vargur
"The Gallente Federation eagerly worked with the Republic in the development of a Marauder-class vessel the Minmatar could call their own. The beast that emerged from Republic borders astonished even the Caldari, who did not think that the superiority of the Golem's shield systems could be emulated, let alone improved upon. High-end electronics from Boundless Creations make this the most advanced subcapital in Matari arsenal, and a powerful weapon of freedom for those brave enough to fly one of these vessels in the name of the Tribes. The Vargur is emblematic of the ferocity of Matari conviction, and its powerful weapon systems would lay waste to any who would doubt it.

Developer: Boundless Creations
While Boundless Creations mainly focuses on high-perfomance ships with heavy armor plating, the engineers who designed the Vargur adapted the Maelstrom's shield generators and refined them, allowing enough room for its massive power core to support both its advanced weapons and its defenses. The result has been what has been called an abomination by the Amarr, a wonder by the Gallente, and a dangerous mess by the Caldari. The Republic Fleet uses these vessels to spearhead attacks against the Angel Cartel, and provides a huge military edge in larger battles. Most are sold on the open market by capsuleers due to their high cost, though."

Damn! CCP, take some notes. Here's to hoping CCP uses their mysterious dev witchcraft to put these in in-place of the current descriptions.

+1, indeed.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

TBH it would probably be one of the easiest large changes for them to make; all they'd have to do would be to reword the current descriptions.

Do you have any t2 ships you'd like me to write descriptions for? I really enjoy doing this btw. P

Very nice descriptions. Fun to read at least once.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

would love to see one written for the HICs (at least the onyx) mainly because it seems to have the strongest passive tank in the game(or that i have found anyway)

Sure thing; here's a *proper* Onyx description:

"One of the first advanced cruisers to see mass production, the Onyx was designed by Kaalakiota to lock down the largest, most heavily shielded flagships around and capture entire fleets within its talons. Sporting some of the most robust shielding in existence for a ship its size, the Onyx is built to survive even the most punishing of assaults, and have the firepower to hit back just as hard. While exhibiting capabilities more akin to a front-line warship, it sees signficantly more use in capsuleer hands than in the Caldari Navy and private military forces due to its specialized nature.

Developer: Kaalakiota
While its release was greeted with great fanfare, the Onyx's development remains a mystery to most anyone outside of Kaalakiota's tight-lipped R&D department. The amount of equipment in ships like these leaves little room for crew, and most systems tend to be automated, allowing for significantly better handling in the hands of capsuleers. Ironically, many newer generation warships like the Onyx are more automated than their gallente counterparts, due to the emphasis on tactical and logistical efficiency through proper use of tech and available space in the Caldari Navy."

At one time, CCP hired writers to write this stuff for them. Maybe they still do. You should find their employment page and apply if they have an opening.

Look through my posting history and see how often I provide positive feedback. That should help you with the self confidence thing. Twisted

Edit: Here's the website. Though they don't currently have any writer positions available, maybe there's some commission work they'd go for if you ask about it.
