!!! Downtime forced my corporation into an alliance

So strangest thing happened today - I was woken up by my sister after receiving a text saying the alliance is now at war. Funny thing is, we never joined an alliance.
[WATCB] left CAStabouts for various reasons and we were thinking about joining an alliance when they got wardecced. Not wanting to deal with a wardec after just dealing with drama from the old alliance we decided to hold off until the war was over.
Somehow in the downtime cycle last night, CCPs server decided to be a spiteful little tool and force us into the alliance we didn't want to join yet anyways.

So being the CEO of the corporation and no shares handed out, I begin to wonder how a corp who is considering joining an alliance can next day just be thrown into said alliance with no CEO input.

I'm hoping CCP can resolve this issue.

The probability that a bug not only signed you up to an alliance but somehow picked the very one you were interested in seems .... small?

Something else is going on.

My thoughts too. However I'm the only one with access to that (being the CEO with no shares given out), and we weren't in an alliance when I went to bed at just before downtime, then was woken up to texts screaming about being in war. I'm not sure what happened, but would be appreciative to have an explanation.
