So this little game I got excited about 6 or 7 months ago is about to be released in an hour or so on Steam. Here is a trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26yDzR1PxPQ

Mmmm, Starship Troopers references.

It's quite influenced by FTL from what I can tell, but is much more expansive, you can land on planets, explore, control the movement of your vessel in combat etc... Seems like a dream come true for me. Being an enormous fanboy of Farscape and similar shows, I've always wanted a RPG/Adventure game along these lines. I'm guardedly optimistic.

It's published by Chucklefish, but developed by Coldrice Games LLC.

Anyway, just thought I'd share with other EVE players, I'm sure there others among you who would be interested.

EDIT: Here is the Steam page. Apparently you can even control whole fleets.

Grrr.

Looks like the game Starbound was supposed to be, how fitting that Chucklefish is publishing it. Bookmarked.

New Eden isn't nice. It isn't friendly. It isn't very hospitiable. Good thing there are people here to shoot in the face.

Want to make New Eden a nice place? Try this out.

I'm 10 minutes in and I've been evicted by my roommate, hired to take apart (kill) a robot, become a crew member on a ship with an experienced crew, shot down a civilian ship, defended against a pirate vessel, salvaged the wreckage, been assaulted by a formidable alien craft, crash landed and lost that experienced crew on a desolate winter planet, and am currently looking for parts to repair a different craft abandoned years ago on the surface.

I've still not finished the tutorial.

EDIT: Did I mention the soundtrack is goddamn amazing? Perfect atmosphere.

Grrr.
