Actually the one thing that they do owe us is game time. When you redeem a PLEX or purchase a subscription you are exchange money for 30 days of game time.

Now reasonable amount of downtime is allowed in the agreements. However, anyone can at any time terminate the EULA and get a refund if they don't think they are getting what they paid for, but you are correct CCP doesn't owe use any in game items or SP.

But it does go a long way in keeping up good relations with their customers.

It's CCP's own fault for having given SP in the past in cases like these. I think there was one where the server was down for 16 hours and we got for it.

You got it all wrong, bud. EVE is doing just fine as always, it's we that are off-line in our simulated world. An EVE "npc" will resolve this issue shortly and reconnect to our server.
