Bowheads and low class WH

Hello,

Rather than post this immediately in the sewer which is FI&D, I'm hoping the more experienced guys here can tell me why it would be a bad idea before that.

What would break if bowheads took a mass reduction to fit into the 300k limited holes?

It would make logistics of hauling assembled ships in a hell of a lot easier for low classes (C2 and up) but I'm thinking I'm missing a fundamental trick as to why this would be a bad idea. Is there a hull I've not thought of it could carry through and punt out to bypass the limits?

I suppose you could haul through more than the total mass limits of a hole that way - is that a huge deal?

One of the common complaints about low end holes is logistics is a pain (and it sort of is), I'm wondering if this might alleviate this, at the cost of risking a squishy, vulnerable asset.

I did search, I've not seen it suggested or discussed. Maybe I suck at searching.

Currently, shopping is mainly done with ceptors (blueprints/fittings) and DSTs (Hulls, ammo) in my case. I'm rebuilding losses in a POS for the main part.

Wormhole logistics as is hardly become so tedious to warrant such a change, want to get 20 hecates and not building them yourself? Fly out with 2 DSTs and bring back two dozen hecates, including fittings. Ever since DST rebalance, lowclass is pretty comfy.

I had thought that packaged ships were a bugger to assemble. My information may be out of date.

No idea regarding T3s, but everything else is legit.

Orcas can also carry a **** load of stuff and fit through these holes.

I don't need twitter. I'm already following you.

Yeah I know about orcas, but they are overall utilitarian as opposed to dedicated, I was figing it might be a neat little use for the bowhead beyond incursion taxis Smile

Thanks to all for decent quality posts

Saw a bowhead in a c5 once. Was wondering wtf and why.

I get the need but c5 and c6 has carriers, c2 through 4 have orcas. I wish I could convert the orca ore bay into more sma storage personally.

Yaay!!!!

While shooting those loot pinjatas sounds fun, they aren't realy needed to move stuff.
You can assemble all ships in pos except t3 cruisers i think.
You can change subsystems at a pos though.

No local in null sec would fix everything!

Probably had a great entrance and wanted to get a bunch of fitted ships in at once. Why take a dozen trips when you can do it in one haul. I don't imagine they kept it in there long term though.

I'm a firm believer that the Orca should be redone into a T3 style ship with a single subsystem slot that changes it around to do this kind of stuff.

Fleet hangar subs, cargohold subs, defensive subs, ore subs, command link subs etc

That would be amazing... And it would make it easier to move fleets through crit holes.

But would unbalance c2 through c4 space having a ability to move freighters and dreads in and out.

Yaay!!!!

I'm a bigger fan of turkey subs.

On a serious note, Orca's make low class wh's livable for multiple alts and corps in the same tower. <3RCA
