On the subject of SKINs

Where are the Caldari and Minmatar skins? We're only getting non-stop Wiyrkomi/Justice SKINs while Gallente and Amarr have over twice the amount of SKins than Caldari and Minmatar. Where's the variety? Where are the pirate faction (Guristas) skins? This is inconsistent, and it's really pissing me off.


(And why the hell aren't the T2 skins overriding the logos on their ships? Still getting the Lai Dai logo on the Kaalakiota Golem.)

You have your Kaalakiota Golem, the little logo is but a insignificant detail. Stop being so ungrateful and rather thank CCP that you can throw more money into their "Working good enough" money grab. Roll (Fun fact: The Wiyrkomi skins for the Caldari T2 frigs and dictor properly replace the logo)

Besides, you are doing exactly what this CCP wants you to: Rant about lack of supply. You rant because your drug dealer doesn't give you enough spice. Just you wait, just endure the deprivation a bit longer. Soon you'll be molded into a mental state where CCP can sell you all the crap for even more money and you'll happily buy it just to feel special among all the other thousands of Wyirkomi Manticores. I'm not throwing money into the half-assed SKINs that they shat out in the last update. I'm just going to wait until they add variety to the bunch. They've been extremely inconsistent with the variety and quality of SKINs, which goes to show that it was half-assed from the start.

(Also, **** Wiyrkomi SKINs.)

all i know is that everyone buying this skins has all but killed the idea of individual ship skins for player corp/alliances

The Golem and Vargur skins that were introduced are MEH at best when compared to the Kronos and Paladin skins.
I don't even notice the difference with the Vargur, and the Golem skin is black with red lines that don't even stand out.

Seriously though, the Kronos skin is AWESOME, Pali is cool, Golem is Meh, and Vargur may or may not have gotten a skin.

Pricing, amount of SKINs distributed to each faction, and quality of said SKINs.

For an example of the quality: Most T2 SKINs don't override the logo, so you'll end up having the Lai Dai logo on a Kaalakiota Golem - and that ***** on CCP's lore-based excuse as to why SKINs are limited.

You are aware that these logos are the manufacturers emblem?
It's like you're upset because the paint shop just painted your Mercedes in Kawasaki green but didn't riped off the stars and pasted the Kawasaki logo there...

SKINs were originally developed by pirates to mimic other faction's ships' vessels. Seeing the logo of the original corp with a skin of another corp is kind of ... hilariously beating the purpose. Not to mention that some T2 ships already feature the SKIN's corp's logo, like the Wyirkomi skins for Flycatcher and Manticore. It's a bug, simple as that, as CCP's bug hunters are incapable of checking even such basic things.

It is not a bug. What have all the ships you mentioned in common?

The Answer they are T1 ships and not T2 ones. T2 ships always get their original fabricator logo and the logo from the skin.

quite frankly i rather like the white on the new vargur skin, i have much bigger issues that you still cant readily distingquish between viziam and t1 amarr stuff...

V5++ made it better but its still hardly "obvious"

I'm still waiting for my Brutor Typhoon skin, saw it in a pic a while back. The Caldari/Minmatar T1 skin shortage should absolutely take priority over these T2 releases. If Amarr can have so many Sarum,Khanid,Ardishaipur (Carthum/khanid/Viziam) same as T2 r&d corps then Caldari/Minmatar deserve the same. So far there are 0 Brutor skins and Thukker skins are treated as a pirate faction (drop) even though its an r&d corp. Caldari have few Lai Dai (mostly capitals), 1 Kaalakiota and hardly any Ishukone. On top of that the Sukkuvesta skin on the heron is very popular as far as hopes for being available for more than 1 ship. Sukkuvesta should have been the prime T2 ship skin for Caldari.

Funny how the skins people actually want and will pay for are just passed for ones players insist are boring.

We recognize that Caldari and Minmatar are short on SKIN options. Therefore they will be the first races to get new SKINs in the future.

The logo changing inconsistencies are related, I believe, to how the ships were authored originally, and should be fixed over time. Art knows about it and they're looking in to it.

Is there any way we can get the Golem and Vargur skins a bit more "pronounced"?
I think they're decent skins, just the color needs to stand out a good bit more.

Yea apparently they pulled an ol'switcheroo on the CoreComplexion/Seibestor SKINs going to a dark green from that sweet black version. I feel bad for all that bought the SKINs for that reason and then logged in to find they've been robbed. I was very very close to buying it for my Talwar when it was still black, soo glad I didn't. When it comes to microtransaction money I'm especially picky on what I'm getting, even more so now after that happening.
