Off grid links are ruining solo and small gang pvp. Perhaps they work for fleets but they have ruined the small gang arena, particularly badly in lowsec where they are at zero risk.

It is in no way balanced that you can have such a huge force multiplier at no risk. Not only that, but unlike any other remote assistance they don't go suspect or get prevented from docking or jumping.

So... Not only can you not kill them if they don't make a mistake, which isn't hard. But you actually get flagged for trying to force them off field.

It's so unbalanced it's unreal. There is no effective counter because even if you can get a character where the links are located which is a big IF in a small gang, you have to have a ship that can tank sentries and then just watch them leave - probably temporarily. You can't do that with logi, you can't do that with e-war and you can't do that with dps ships so why can the most influential ship in a gang get away with it?

They need fixing so badly...

Your tears are delicious, and the issue is known. Allegedly they are the next big project after SOV, as brain in a box is almost complete and so will drop shortly after sov.

Also, INB4L: R17.

Well you know what they say about the squeakiest wheel getting the oil. Which is particularly valid in eve. It's been in a really bad state for a long time and should have been fixed already.

Lol at tears....what is this 2010?

Why are they are zero risk in low sec? Do combat probes not work there? Please explain the nature of the problem.

By the way, I suppose you could not have posted in the other "nerf links" thread on the first page?

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Because they orbit gates or sit on station undock. Someone tries shoot them and they jump or dock up. Then return when you arent there anymore.

If links had weapon timers, it would solve a lot of these issues.

It wasn't on the first page when I posted it. Not being funny either but it's the people that whinge the most that get stuff changed rather than those who do things the "proper" way. As I said earlier too, this has been an ongoing problem for a long time, it should have been fixed long ago.

Stitch has explained why they are at zero risk. I thought it was pretty clear from what I wrote What?
