Who Taught Drifters to Fit Points?

They drop the gear you need to build entosis links.

At this rate, the number of people losing ships to them, entosis links are going to remain 'expensive' for a good while.

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Built by CCP

Ahh, so that's what they were doing when they flash a beam of light onto your ships. Very interesting

I knew this was coming as soon as they first hit Tranquility.

Stasis webifying, energy neutralising; they also have the ability to repair 10,000 Armor HP every second. I'm waiting for the day when that doesn't just happen when you break the overshield.

I believe you meant to say 1,000 Armor HP every second, 10,000 reps every second is insane.

Cuz EVERY other aspect of PvE is this game is mindnumbly boring.

Seriously this is ZERO reason for the drifters or to worry abiut them.

GUYS just right click one and select HIDE FROM OVERVIEW.

Boom! Never worry about/see/think about circandian seeekers kr drifters ever again.

They are just like atmospheric art. Turn them off. Another useless and pointless FEATURE that you can just ignore cuz pointless

That's only if you stay in Hi-Sec. They WILL attack anything and anyone indiscriminately in low/null sec. I've already lost 2 Kitsunes from them after returning from burner missions (auto-piloting isn't safe anymore).

I really want the points they fit. They go to over 100km+. Not sure yet how many warp core stabs are needed to run away or if Drifters stock infinite points like Heavy Interdictors.

The question on my mind now is this: can they point an interceptor? If they can do that, they are running a long range super dictor capability and that would be bad.

That's impressive considering they don't have armor...

They've always had Armor. Always.

Edit: that's one hilarious observation you come to have made. Whatever would make you think that?

Some further details on Drifter aggression in known space from my own experience:

Be closer than 80km to a Jove Observatory
Be closer than 30km to an Unidentified Wormhole
Have an Antikythera Element in your cargo (maybe Gleaned Information/Entosis Link as well)
Actively combat Seekers and wait for Drifters to Appear
Engage Drifters directly

The distances above may have recently changed. I noticed at least Seekers attack me no matter where on an Observatory/Wormhole Grid I was.

And their stats are as ludicrous as they are since quite a while now.

CCP is replacing players with player-like drifters. The drifters are a simulation of what a new player using the new Jovian race. Now they just finished training propulsion jamming. Think about it. Apollo Tyrannos suddenly show up in WTFPWN battleships is like the uninformed "I level my raven" highsec player armed with "mommy seagull's credit card to buy tons of plex so I can bling my fit with officer mods" who went straight into a battleship now shooting stuff he doesn't even know. how to use properly.

Now he finished training propulsion jamming I so now he can fit points now that he has leveled his Jovian Battleship to V. Also the Jove observatories are unfueled jove poses that went offline because our intrepid Apollo Tyrannos doesn't know about POSes and fuels.

This is a terrifyingly plausibly hypothesis.

I have thus far ignored them entirely. I saw one drifter battleship once that showed up during a fight and killed one of our fleet's Guardians though. I have no idea what they are and where they come from and I don't really care either but I doubt they're going to be a pointless feature. They'll serve some kind of lolrp purpose in the future.

We have also tried to break warp disruption by:

Neuting - Failed
Jamming - Failed
Damping - Failed
Using a Bait Ship actively engaging on grid to take aggression away from Logistics - Failed (They will cycle through targets but will focus on logistics *we did fit a remote repair+rep drones to the damnation with no success in changing the Drifters aggression toward logistics*)

Still need to try:
- A long string of Mobile Micro Jump Units to help pull range from Drifters (First attempt failed due to poor alignment)
- Fitting many warp core stabs
- Using a Bait Ship to kill over-shield with the hope that the super-weapon goes against the damage dealer, not the current target
- Holding Antikythera Elements in cargo hold and/or Entosis Link Fit on bait ship (Thank you for the idea! Big smile)

Man I hope the carebear attitude of "it's npc, I turn it off and it can't hurt me" goes up in smoke. Keep repeating it guys, keep on keeping on and one day CCP may just see to it you lose your officer mission ship.

Its only a matter of time till people use alts to attempt to farm drifters without negative standings on their mains. It only stands to see if CCP changes them to combat this or not.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

Remember when incursions were supposed to wreck regions and force people to band to2to kill them to get rid of region wide debuffs?

Ccp toned it down and people ignore them other than incursion bears that print PLEXes.

Its an optional pointless feature dude.

Well if I ever have to sov for some reason I'll be sure to pick an entosis off the market. I can only hope CCP actually sticks with it so it isn't that simple.

I don't think so.

Too much effort and interaction with future sov mechanics to be a pointless feature.
It also is forming up to be a sweet content injector. Holding sov against the will of your crushed enemies is one thing, but you will no longer get too complacent when these buggers pop up and cook a station, or an outpost.

But....only time will tell. I'm hoping CCP is playing the long game here.
