Blops?

So it seems like the entire ship tier rebalancing has hit a stale mate on all accounts (minus a few tweaks here and there i.e. Ishtar taking a stick up the pooper).... I am just wondering if CCP had any intentions of getting back to rebalancing all tiers, and finally giving the BLOPS class some much needed attention?

Any info would be much appreciated.

I would like to see the d-scan immunity from the combat recons. It wouldn't be as bad as the cov-ops cloak, and would help them quite a bit in terms of their surprise factor.

That would be too powerful, their combat capabilities are way too good for that.

Mostly fuel usage for the portal, increase range to 5LY, perhaps a cap recharge increase and a rebalance amongst the different Blops because some are better than others. Many people will ask for an EHP increase but that would make them too powerful imo, they're used quite a bit these days which means they're not "bad". Just some quality of life changes and rebalancing, really.

Without looking it up, their combat capabilities are nearly on par with t1 BS, and their tank is less or on par.

The only thing they are good for at the moment is the portal.

Obviously, yes. They get two cloaking bonuses which are VERY powerful and on top of that they get the portal capability, looking purely at the combat side of it and go "it's not the same so they're not as good" is simply disingenuous. If their combat would be on par they'd be hilariously good.

id love to see black ops get something similar done to recons
one with a cloak bonus and decent Ewar and maybe tank but poor dps
and one without a cloak worse Ewar but higher dps.

Compared to what they can push through their bridge, their own abilities look pretty underwhelming.

That said, d-scan immunity is hardly what these ships need in order to be of more use than bridge bunnies.

Blops are the least used ship class in the game. They need some seroius help.
The problem is no one can agree as to what that change should be.

Just trying to make theyre bridging ability better is a cop out. Might as well make a deployabe and be done with it. It would be as bad as the brdging titans (never used except to coast out of a pos shield, and then coast back in).

Everything else is tricky, you cant just buff stats or fit better cloaks without taking away from other ships... Blops need to be given a direction and make that solid.
The closest comparrison to the blops as a class is the marauder (T2 BS) look how powerful they are as a ship and that is what i expect from black ops. Obviously not as powerful in straight combat potential, but with bonuses and stats to warrent their existance as a battleship.

Personally... i would either seperate the bridging ability or integrate it into the ship to not effect its fitting, give them cov-ops cloak, T2 resists, and bring in line with theyre T1 conterparts...
Then keep them in line with mods.... long reactivation delays on the cloaks, poor(ish) tracking stats, tight fitting...

Like i said as it stands theres no "right" answer at the moment apart from the need to do something.

blops is for ganking, you pick a target you know you can kill. No need for increased combat stats otherwise they just become T2 battleships and would see regular use which is not the point of them.

... well what is the point... so theyre ships that are hardly ever used, and then only when your sure its a fight you know your going to win (and likely crushingly so as no one wants to lose a ship). Might as well just remove them from the game.

Easier to just jump other ships. Theres a reason black ops arent used, too much effort for little gain.

they dont need changed they are fine, they dont need cov ops cloaks and dont need dscan immunity
