By that logic, you are putting an arbitrary value on versitility on EWAR mods. You are implying that target painters, webifiers, warp scrams and disruptors, dampeners and neuts are all to versitle and need a racial element added to balance them. They can all be hard countered. Sure fit ECCM and it'll help but its not a hard counter. ECM is not hard countered, its countered by chance. Additionally, ECM has a racial element because of its powerful nature. It is a necessity to keep it balanced with the ewarfare that is secondary to ECM

Seriously your idea would make ECM more overpowered than it was years ago when the "because of falcon" meme was born. Fit 3 ECMs, load scripts as necessary, win. That is a terrible terrible concept.

However, if you were willing to sacrifice some of the jam strength for this versatility, it'd be reasonable. It doesn't sound like you are. By your logic, you think ECM is underpowered right now. Hint: its not.


I yield that point to you, maybe ECM would be Op with this... but still but as it stands now something about it doesn't seem right about ECM.... Maybe the scripted version of a multispec shouldn't be as powerful as pure racials.

I will modify my suggestion just to add versitility to ships that do not have the mid slots to support a full spectrum of jammers. Also, a less powerful multiracial scripted jammer that has the ability to switch jam type, but with less jam strength than a pure racial.

I'll concur with the point you're trying to drive: multispecs are useless right now.

Racial scripts would benefit them greatly and add some diversity to ECM (decisions are good), but the strength should never be more than say 60-75% that of T2 racials.

My idea is to "Merge Sensor Boosters and ECCMs" (locked thread):

It would make ECCMs just a script for the already useful Sensor Boosters. It also just makes sense. I mean, they boost your sensors, right? :P
