Eve 2.0 - A brave new world?

Some of us have been worried for a couple of years about the declining population of eve, we tried to speak but we only got back trolling (eve is dying since 2004 blah blah). By now though most people have realised the rapidly declining user base is a fact.

However, no one knows that better than CCP, yet we don't see any serious effort to revitalise the game. Fixes and balance tweaks can get you so far and you won't convince more people to go to null no matter how lucrative you make it. The problem with null is the people that it attracts, the people that live there and the sooner they realise that the better. Eve desperately needs fundamental changes and new content and with the rate CCP is releasing updates I just don't see that happening before the game dies.

Could it be that CCP have realised how badly they messed up? They realised that Eve is old and there is no time to fix it. Instead they have gone into self preservation mode and have been stashing most of their income ( why the sudden influx of skins?) so they can fund the development of a whole new game. A new start without the outdated mechanics of Eve. They can even get some support from kickstarter. Would you give them such support?

you must be blind or is it because the fixes are not directly aimed at your activities/playstyle?

or is this stealth for needing more pve activities or being spoonfed some more content?

I hope WoW never dies, because else we will have the same bullshitteria now, but 100x worse ...

How come? We're not allowed to talk about the possibility of a new game from CCP? No wonder these forums are desolate.

Actually breaks like 5 rules I think. Ranting, trolling, redundant, roumers, reopening closed threads.

Overpriced micro transactions on a subscription based game is surely a sign of things going well financially for CCP Roll

A similar thing happened with WoW. Once Blizzard realised large swathes of their playerbase were stupid enough to throw money at them in return for sparkly flying mounts and server transfers the number of microtransactions increased but the quality of the actual game decreased.

CCP had a lucky shot with EVE. I don't think they would be able to replicate that. Look at their idiotic decisions on all their other games.

Dust 514: Released on a dying platform with underwhelming performance, graphics and gameplay (seriously, I tried it, it is horrible)

World of Darkness: Bschhh?

Valkyrie: Based on some 3D googles stuff no one has and few ever will purchase. Feeds on a "WOAH SPACE!" effect which fades after 30min and then it probably just becomes annoying to wear this ******* googles.

You really think a company like that can make an EVE 2.0?

They actually do a good job at fixing EVE. All they have to do is stay out of the sandbox and balance and fix stuff.

Oh and does anyone else notice the familiarity to the character from yesterday and the similar writing style?

Better open your eyes than.
Changes are done and serious, Fozzy Sov is quite a big change.
Seekers / Drifters show greater changes to PvE, where E-Pirates get smarter AI. You can expect that those AI will slowly replace the other ones.

This "Brain in a Box" is what someone might call EvE 2.0 where some of the serverprogramms are rewritten, some part is moved from python to c++.

Since eve is dying, how did systems become so crwoded over the last five years... Or why did the average gang increase in numbers so much? And why are there multiple gangs around, when it used to be just that one gatecamp in the area...
