Mineral Ratios?

I'm looking into just buying minerals in bulk, instead of buying what I need for my next manufacturing block.

Is there a good rule of thumb on a good ratio to keep on hand for generalized tech-1 production?

An example of what I'm looking for is:

50% Trit
25% Pyerite
10% Mex
5% Isogen
5% Zydrine
5% Megacyte

Or something like that?

Also is this feasible with t2 ship production (based on a single race)?

Greatly depends on what you are building. For example, I consume roughly 10x more Tritanium than anything else.

I place buy orders based on the market availability more than my usage.

As Tau Cabalander has mentioned, it depends on the (sub-)type of products in question.

Even then, it won't be uniform across all four races, and even between tiers of each. Blink

As mentioned before it depends on the items you are manufacturing. However, we purchase minerals in bulk like you are expecting to. The way we came up with our ratios was to calculate the ratio for several items we manufacture the most and averaged them out.

It's not perfect, sometimes we have to buy more of one or another but it works for the most part. We also look at prices and when a price drops we invest a lot in that mineral. We have a huge stockpile of zyd as a result.
