Executive Summary

  • EVE Online's original Mercenary Alliance; we did this before there were mechanics for it.
  • Leaders with 10+ years experience as mercenaries in EVE Online.
  • The MC is a multi-national gaming alliance, with members from all time zones.
  • Experienced in all forms of mercenary contracts; long-term hardcore players. Spaceship nerds and friends.
  • Specialize in coordinating and leading groups of corps and alliances to achieve tactical and strategic objectives.

What sets our alliance apart from many others is our unwavering commitment to being the most professional and adaptable mercenary organization in EVE. The flag we fly under pioneered mercenary spaceship services in the sandbox environment of EVE. As happened in the past, we have started off small and continue to grow and will always maintain that with the right balance of people, teamwork can achieve great things.

We have survived turmoil and trouble. We have achieved success and suffered defeats. We scattered amongst the stars, but have returned again. We are the Mercenary Coalition.

Inside MC

Having fun while getting paid to murder virtual people is the number one goal of the MC. When we are on the job, you are expected to be professional and on point. When we are off contract, you are expected to be chilled out and helpful. Everyone under our flag should know when they are logging in to play with their brothers what they can expect - a good time with good people.

We place a specific emphasis on putting an end to the hamster wheel of play in EVE. The MC operates all over New Eden. We declare wars in high sec, we destroy freighters in low sec, we hit targets in wormhole space and we attack sov assets in null sec. You will rarely be in a situation where there isn't something to do, and it will usually be in a place different than where you were a few weeks earlier. You will see New Eden from one end to the other, and you will be instrumental in burning down parts of it from time to time.

Why Should I / My Corporation Join MC?

There are mercenary alliances and corps and then there is the Mercenary Coalition. We pioneered this style of gameplay over a decade ago by fostering a unique internal alliance atmosphere of fun and maturity that places an emphasizes on teamwork and professionalism. One of our catchphrases has always been, "We solve problems." This stands true today. Within the MC you will be given an opportunity to engage in every level of PVP against a continuing variety of targets. You never know where 'the life' will take you. Every single interaction by every single member of the MC outside of our virtual walls is about exactly two things - representing our current client and attracting the next client.

History

The Mercenary Coalition was founded in April of 2004 to become EVE Online's first true mercenary alliance. The MC grew and led from the front in EVE Online, successfully executing a number of high profile mercenary contracts over a period of years. MC eventually closed in 2008 as conflict arose with their long term partners, Band of Brothers, which resulted in an attempt by MC to make a neutral Merc + Pirate 'enclave' called 'Tortuga'.

This turn of events caused the weakened but more powerful Band of Brothers (BoB) to resurge and take MC's home null sec systems. This conflict between BoB and their previous partners created fascinating drama and Mercenary Coalition's closure was seen by many as one of the great events in EVE Online's history.

February of 2015 saw the flag of MC rise again, spearheaded by minds both old and new, to live and thrive in EVE's ever changing virtual world. The time for mercenaries to make their mark in New Eden has never been more opportune. We are always looking for the next biggest and brightest PvPers that wish to fly within a unique and progressive organization.

Requirements

TeamSpeak 3, Fleet-Up, Slack, and PvP experience with a PvP mindset.
18 + (we are a mature, adult environment, but not abusive).
We expect you to be a professional pilot, especially during our contracts.
The contract and client come first.
The ability to operate in all areas of high-sec and low-sec.
We don't have a hard SP minimum but you should be able to fly our doctrines or train into them with little difficulty. Interceptors and other T2 Frigates are good benchmarks that we look at. We also look at your core and support skills.

What We Offer

Ship Replacement Program (SRP) on contract-use doctrines.
Regular variety of PvP opportunities.
A casual yet professional environment.
A fun, tight-knit community.
Sabre A rage.

"It's about the person next to you."

We are not looking for just 'corps of PvPers'; playing the numbers game will only get you so far. What makes you MC material is a mature and fun attitude combined with lethal resolve. We are looking for corps and individuals whose membership genuinely enjoy flying together and being good at spaceship violence. An effective mercenary organization is one where your brothers and sisters' first priority is improvement in your chosen profession and helping each other achieve the goals of our current client. Many of our members still playing today have flown together for nearly a decade.

If all of the above sounds like the place for you or your corp, please visit our Recruitment Forums and we will get back with you ASAP.

Vouch. MC is a blend of experienced and energetic pilots who truly are invested in the content they provide. New or old players, spice it up, throw some [MC] on it.

I fought against MC back in 2004/05 and was impressed with how annoying they were! I then joined them in 2006 and had some great fun. If this new incarnation is even half as good as the original then they are worth joining.

Good luck MC.

Thanks, we are building the Alliance in much the same way as the old one. We have a lot of the old MC vet core but we are building on newer blood so we have a good mixture moving forward and have already made tremendous progress so far.

The single greatest thing I can say that we are striving to achieve is we are getting back to the old way of how alliances use to act. No racism, no RL attacks on members and no vindictive trolling to make others feel like a piece of **** if they make mistakes. Unfortunately this is a common atmosphere in todays Eve and something I don't wish tolerate anymore as a vet. This ideology is not for everyone but it is a big part of what made the old alliances memorable to be a part of.

I've been working with the new Mercenary Coalition since its foundation.
Things sure have come a long way in the few months it's been.

As a pilot who can't log in everyday the alliance logistic department is a godsend.
I get home from work to a welcoming mercenary family, and have everything I need to participate in a contract already moved.

I joined up PRPD to MC a few months back after noticing former corps we flew with now flying under their banner.

Things worked out so well with the culture and development or the alliance, that I decided to merge PRPD in to CRII and focus on the alliance.

The direction is clear and the fights are of a much higher level than you might expect from an alliance of our weight class.

I thought once an alliance/ corp closed the name was gone for good... A bit like the reason we can't change toon names. I thought it a bit odd that you got the name back is all when CCP don't usually allow it.

I'm not sure what those dates are all about but the name / alliance was never in danger of being out of my control. Sabre A is currently running the show as I don't have the time for such things (running alliances / getting grey hair) these days.

This version of the MC is being brought to life by players both old and new who are dedicated to the mercenary cause and believe in what they are doing. I wouldn't let the flag fly otherwise. While many other alliances are stumbling around and imploding due to all the recent changes in EVE, MC is growing and thriving and it warms my black heart to see it so.

*BUMP* - i was sent here to fix my bump. so here goes...

Speaking as a new'er' player to the game, I was lost for quite some time, going through corps/alliances trying to find my home.
In my brief history in eve, somehow I came to find the wonderful pilots of Chill Town and Sabre A of which I had no prior knowledge of. And even though I kept one foot in and one foot out, something about these pilots kept pulling me back.

Then mentions of 'MC' and old stories peaked my interest and the more I researched the more interested and excited I became at a chance to fly with what would be the new MC.

Thus far since my short time in MC, I can honestly say it's been the most fun I've had playing this game.

You will not find a better group of people, friends and pilots who share a common interest and have fun be it in comms or out in space and the hunger and dedication to be the best!

I am proud to be a member of the MC and I have found my home.

There's something happening here...

We are getting a lot of interest from pilots looking to join and to others looking to hire us.

Many of the applicants I get are people who are excited to see MC active again and that we're also something a little different than what they've come to expect from mercenaries.

My own journey here is one mapped out simply by the people that are involved. After about three years of being very active in EVE University I had decided to step down as a director there. I knew I wanted to move on and as I knew where I didn't want to go I didn't quite know where I really wanted to go. I had several close friends and contacts who offered to vouch me into various corps out there. And I'm very grateful for those friends and their vouches.

Then one day I met Sabre A. A person whom I'd known of, had my own opinion of (which wasn't favourable to say the least), but he'd invited me to talk with him, to get to know him. I'm very glad I did that.

In my final year of hanging around E-UNI I got to know Sabre quite well, and the crowd of people that were drawing together in the Chill-Town group. I was just drawn to them, I liked hanging around them. Then one day Sabre asked me to join him in helping to get MC going again. I didn't hesitate. It could have been a mining corp he'd asked me to come help build. It was the people.

Hanging around and being part of the current MC is incredible, and not only for the great content and stuff we do, whether on contract on downtime, it's really the people. From some of the longest standing and active players in the game to some of the newest people they are all a great bunch.

I truly have found my home. I didn't know I wanted to be a mercenary, but I instinctively knew I wanted to be with good people.
