[Caldari] 6.7.YC117 Victory of Kehjari

Sun on the black sky
Silence in void of space
Wrecks and frozen flesh

I would like to congratulate all loyal Caldari pilots with the great victory we have just achieved. The gallente siege of Kehjari, that lasted for three days, is finally over.

Our fleet was running 24 hours a day, we kept the system as the most dangerous in the whole New Eden for all three days, thousands of ships were wrecked, billions of isks were lost, millions of lives perished... But despite everything we stand victorious this day. We have protected the system, important military base, and all the Caldari colonies on the planets from the threat of gallentean occupation.

We have achieved it, because we were fighting together, we were fighting as one, disregarding that we were from the different corporations, that we had different interests, there was something that was uniting us: Caldari State.

The battle wasn't as long as battle of Hasmijaala this winter, and gallente forces expired way faster this time, yet it was major success as we once again broke gallente will and shown them that gallente aggressors aren't welcome in Caldari space.

Thanks to all the fleet commanders, who were herding us like cats; thanks to management, who were bringing ships, fitting them and handing to pilots, and thanks to everyone, who were just flying! Thanks to every one of you, who has once again proven your loyalty to the State by defending this system!

Together we can win!

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.

In memory of Tibus Heth, Caldari State Executor YC110-115, Hero and Patriot.

Umm, congratulations.... I guess.

I remember when Calmil didn't do this and sneered at the FDU when they did.

Congrats on the victory, but I am still a little sad.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

The Caldari, of course, are desperate for good news these days. So every little bit counts, and brandishing a handkerchief counts for waving a flag.

Didn't you try to think that this system might have been more important that any random system or any of your districts, and that was an organized militia-wide operation, not just a couple of swagging armored guys with huge guns running mindlessly one after another?
Well, please do try.

Too many peoples have died there, way greater than anywhere in the New Eden during these days. Even if you don't respect what Caldari peoples do, at least pay respects to all the crewmembers that died during these days from both sides.

When the Caldari had victories to boast, they did. If their Milita pilots fought as often as you sneer, perhaps they'd have more accomplishments to take pride in.

My involvement in this campaign was limited to one inconclusive engagement towards the end, but it was clear both sides had put up days of hard fighting. I'm sure there will be more to come.

If they fought as often as we fight, you might be wearing that smirk on the other side of your face.

Why would I smirk? It's in no way painful for me to acknowledge that the defenders of Kehjari put up a determined fight, and for now a successful one.

Actually, I'd say that's one major difference between Kim's post and those I've made in the past: I always acknowledge and praise the efforts of the Caldari pilots I've flown against. When they fight. I don't tend to praise those who retreat from their home systems for us to take uncontested.

Are we talking Skadi? Because if Skadi took a liking to your sandwich that would explain how you managed to do the two things at once.

Meh - I wasn't criticising the skills or attitude of the defending forces, I was just saying that putting up this sort of message used to be the sort of thing we deliberately didn't do. We left that sort of thing to the other side.

What's that old trope about battles and wars? Something about losing one, winning the other? Oh, I can't quite put my finger on it. Anyway, I have slavers to thwart. Joigin!

Yeah, I understood your point. You've made it before, and I've disagreed before.

If anything, the IGS has had a much more active contingent of Caldari organizations in the years I've been here to observe. I've seen their pilots post all kinds of topics. What I haven't seen are the few Gallente pilots that are regulars here showing up to harp about how insignificant they think every Caldari science project, corporate merger / dissolution, or ship commissioning is.

Look, it's the nature of the IGS - or at least it used to be. You guys never stop talking about every little achievement and we never stop talking down your every achievement. I'd gladly admit that THIS TOO IS RUBBISH, even though I'm guilty of rising to the bait, myself.

Nonetheless, I reserve the right to gently chide my countrymen for behaviour I think is unbecoming without your approval or the approval of the FDU in general.

Again, as I've said before: it is very simple to see who among us are actually posting "every little thing" to the IGS.

I post rarely on the IGS. Even my few submissions come more often than almost anyone else I can think of in the FDU. Most of my compatriots in GMVA / GalMil post never.

Anyway, by all means chide away. I'm sure that kind of thing remains fashionable here.

Man, some people get out of bed wanting to get their feelings hurt. I mean, you are entitled to your opinions and all, but that doesn't mean they are useful by default.

Again, if I want to call out behaviour I see as essentially not being in the Caldari tradition, I don't exactly need your blessing.
