Structure Changes and BPOs

Does anyone have a linky to current discussions of what will happen to station BPOs down the road when structure changes are introduced? Or is this entirely up in the air right now? I'm just wondering what will happen to my station and POS libraries...

It is nothing to worry about now. I expect we have at least 2 years at this point before anything happens.

Hi,

Have been wondering the same myself, but we only have a few small structure BPO's as we are not rich enough to own many, but have built up a nice collection of BPC's and I am now concerned as to what is going to happen - will we lose them? Will they be re-imbursed?

Will we need to use them / sell them all and what sort of timescale are we talking for the transition period? years? months? Have read through the attached posts above, and dont really see anything to indicate timescales.

There are a few mentions of skills being changed / re-imbursed and I did read something about things needed to be done to re-imburse BPO or change them to the new styles. The problem appears to be, there is no direct link between the old style structures and the new style.

Would be nice to have something from CCP about how they expect the process to go - understanding it will be subject to change.

At the moment, I dont know if i should be trying to get rid of BPC's, or if everyone will soon be trying to do the same and thus crashing the market for them!!

If I have missed any relevant Dev blogs / other forum posts about this, then I apologise, and please can you link.

Any updates from anyone would be appreciated as its difficult to buy / sell on a medium to long term corporate strategy when we have no idea if we are investing in a worthless line of structure and POS items.

In the past there has been no reimbursement for BPC, just BPOs, and then BPOs at NPC sell prices regardless of the amount of ISK spent to research them.

I own all structure BPO, and with few exceptions, all are researched to 10% : 20% (maximum), which took a long time (last level taking the better part of a year on some), and cost many billions of ISK. I expect to lose this investment.

So if this is indeed the case again, We may have just spent a sizeable proportion of budget as an investment on something that will become useless in the near future.

Are there any ideas on timescale yet? I have heard everything from 1-3 years, but I have not come across anyone who is confident in their projections!

Whilst I understand devs being busy in other areas, with the SOV changes going live today, Some kind of update or announcement - or even acknowledgement - of this issue from dev/isd/gm/csm/ anybody (!) would be nice, not to mention useful so we dont totally blow or miss the boat on future investment / expenditure.

When the first citadel (which will be an office, not for industry) hits Tranquillity, we'll likely have at least a year after that before an industry version, and another year before starbases start to be phased out.

According to my Magic 8-Ball at least.

Since no time frame has been formally announced, there won't be any.

If you want a GM answer (though they probably won't know), file a petition. Devs don't read ever forum thread there is. Don't think we've had a dev reply in here since the invention changes last year.
ISD are forum moderators, not part of the dev team, hence they won't know. CSM if they know will be under an NDA.

Personally I'm just staying out of the structure market and selling what I have in that area. Mostly because I don't play every day any longer and won't be able to react fast to news.
