Barira Traffic Control unresponsive

Traffic Control in the system of Barira in the Domain region has been unresponsive for at least 9 hours, according to one witness.

Stargates from both Yuhelia and Bagodan apparently received no response from Barira Traffic Control when attempting to initiate a wormhole. This blockage to the system, a commonly trafficked pipe system between the Heimatar and Domain regions, left at least a dozen cargo vessels stationary when their autopilots failed to reroute around the system.

One capsuleer pilot, Druur Monakh of Redemption Road, took advantage of these vessels momentary lack of attention, and destroyed a pair of Iteron Mark Vs along with a shuttle before CONCORD were able to intervene. It is unknown at this stage what cargo the vessels may have been carrying.

According to Bolehcim Barrelhouse of Wolf FTL Holdings, the Bagodan to Barira gate "has been closed for at least 9 hours."

More troublesome are reports of drifter activity in the area, with groups of 5 circadian seekers emerging to scan down the waiting ships, before departing.

Pilots intending to pass through Barira without a stopover are advised that the system can be avoided with just one jump one via Bagodan <-> Murzi <-> Aghesi <-> Yuhelia.

Did anyone notice or are there any records of a Drifter or Seeker using it's entosis link on the gate at all? Is it possible they can interfere with the mechanisms to shut it down?

People had better pay attention and not trust their autopilot in any case.

I was actually up that way yesterday and experienced the issue with Barira gate, had to take an alternate route to my destination.

I do not remember seeing any Drifters or sleepers present, but I was only there for 5 or so minutes.

That is a disturbing statement Mr. Boma. If this is true then the Drifters have the ability to hack the gate tech and bypass CONCORD's control, which could be devastating should they wish to launch a full scale invasion.

I was present during this time and witnessed a prolonged encounter on the Barira gate in Bagodan between sevral Seekers and Capsuleers. The gate remained down, long after the encounter.

Upon reports of the disturbances the Curatores Veritatis Alliance formed a fleet to
investigate and possibly assist in case of an attack.

However no attack occured and the findings were inconclusive as to the cause of the malfunction.
Drifter involvement can neither be confirmed nor denied at this moment.

Excuse my ignorance, but are these systems in Hisec? I live in Nullsec and rarely come to Hisec if ever. We have been experiencing Drifters in our home systems for some time now. I myself lost a Nightmare to a Drifter attack. I've since remained well clear of them. These reports that Drifters are acting belligerent in Hisec are disturbing to say the least.
The Seekers show up from time to time to scan our stations, and with them occasionally Drifters. We have all learned to leave them be. Either remaining docked or not going to the station until they leave,

You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel.

The Drifters have been present in Hisec for quiet some some time also scanning ships, stations and gates.
Amarr itself shows daily Drifter activity and the residents have learned to... live with it.

Is there a pattern of more aggressive activity from the Drifters/ Seekers in regard to one empire as opposed to the other three?

Has anyone kept track of hostile engagements to determine if a pattern exists?

We should all take note that if jump gates can be interdicted absent CONCORD allowing cyno usage great swaths of inhabited space may become inaccessible at the whim of Drifters/ Seekers. I do not much care for that possibility.

This is a time for cautious steps with a well thought out deliberate goal, just shooting Drifters may be opening a box we can not easily close again.

Hmmm... It might be time for all orbitals to take a good hard look at independent self-reliance again...

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

It might be time for someone high up in Amarrian command to tell us what the hell they did to **** the Drifters off so much. It is also high time CONCORDtold us everything they know about them too.
