Come again, you need a citation that whales are not supposed to be vulnerable to fishing hooks?

Maybe not, but they are vulnerable to guys in really small boats with harpoons.

Wrong. What you should have said was "if a sub-section of the player base want Eve to be dark to gankers, too, then they should get out there and blow their gank ships out of the sky before they get to their target", but instead you're here posting the same gibberish we've seen every time this thread has been re-started.

Eve cannot be dark to gankers due to gankers being loss-immune at the moment. That needs to be fixed - then making eve dark to gankers would be actually possible, albeit A LOT LOT LOT LOT LOT LOT harder than ganking (order of magnitude in difficulty difference is correct).

it's "gibberish" to people who want to have loss immunity, of course, imagine what can I do to you if you're suddenly not loss immune.

Gankers are not immune to loss. They are, however, smart enough to mitigate the loss they do suffer down to its lowest possible value. A ganker is not "risking" his Catalyst, he is paying the price of his chosen profession in its loss.

As someone who's flown his freighter alt through highsec for years without ever losing one, I say the fault for losing a ship to a ganker rests entirely on he who got ganked. Read the guides on how to avoid ganks, and use every single method every single time, and you're pretty much 100% safe already.

We're not talking about whales, we're talking about things that happen within Eve online. Point me to any dev quote that says freighters should be immune to destroyers.

If you shoot a gank ship before the ganker's intended target dies, then the ganker has lost. We're only immune for as long as you refuse to log into the game and do something about it, rather than whining on the forum.

I'm not loss-immune and I've never met any Eve player who is.

Go sit on niarja gate and shoot them.

I'm going to tell you to which safespot on your body you shall stick your armor fit drake of an opinion on what I'm supposed to do.

Gankers can be shot, but that would be futile, as they are loss-immune.
Half a million is not a cost and not even a pocket change. It's basically free activity. Catalysts are free. That is a problem.

The T2 cats anyone sensible uses are 8mil.

Even the 1.5mil T1 fits for ten hour heroes have logistical, time, and effort costs.

You have never explained why your freighter should be immune to the effort of a dozen or more people trying to kill you. Please do so, without falling back on 'ISK is balance!!111' arguments.

And considering that hundreds of freighters pass through udema and niarja every single day, without getting ganked, do you not thinkg that maybe you are the one doing something wrong? I mean, you've had people from both sides of the argument tell you how to survive it all, but all you want to do is scream...

If you pointlessly blinged your catalyst with T2, it's your own problem, and another symptom that ganking is over-enabled based on the fact that gankers are not bothered by unnecessary extra costs at all. Well, no risk, infinite reward, what would you expect?

ISK balance is a perfectly sound argument, your moronic belittling of it, trying to troll your way around it or other attempts to nullify it are futile.

Since everything can be freely ganked, if something is not ganked, it's because gankers are super lazy, super bad players, nothing else. Each and every one of those freighters are gankable, if you don't take it, that is your problem.

So far I have not received a single sound argument of the opposite, except some bla-bla and 1/10 imbecility-induced trolling attempts.

And once again, I have nothing against efforts of dozen people trying to kill me, I'm against their ability to do it for free. Loss immunity should not be a thing in our eve.

Show me a free gank ship that can be used in a gang of 20 to kill a freighter in highsec before concord arrives.

Despite being goon, you are starting to get it.
There is no problem of bringing 100 instead of 20 because the ship is free.

In my experience, when dealing with idiots, attacks drastically increase reading comprehension.
My position were explained so many times in this thread that I am forced to act on precondition that anyone who haven't got it yet must be an idiot.

Your points are wrong, as has been explained many, many times. You simply choose to ignore anyone who doesn't agree with you. That is not how a discussion works.

I answered it in full. He already confirmed the free ship point. I just shown him how free ship works.
And once again, to break your lack of reading comprehension, I were only baselessly told to be wrong by likes of you, who are yet to bring a single argument why.

The best one you brought is that "ISK balance should not be a reason to remove my loss immunity", while clearly ISK balance is one of the MANY reasons I specified why your loss immunity should be removed. The rest was just blabbering and attempts to call whoever you gewnies assume to be higher authorities.

Robin Iskies wrote:

Thought of trying it, but this is just too far from viability. You lose a bs, gankers lose free ships, and smartbombs have a good chance to help gank by applying extra dps, if they would even work (known to lag very hard in crowded hisec places).
Thus no, yet another "ganking counter" proved to be inefficient and this one will most likely be counter-productive.

no, you lied, misinterpreted what multiple people were saying, outright made up virtually every single thing you have presented as a 'fact', and then threw around some entirely made up buzzwords you seem tot hink defends your position.

At no point have you given a real explanation as to why multiple cheap chips should not be able to kill single expensive ships, which is a scenario that happens in PVP CONSTANTLY.

Explain why cost is a balancing factor in any aspect of this game.

Now, show us a free ship that can kill a freighter in a group of 20.

What we know as fact.

1. Ganking Catalysts are not free. It's not even like the simple statement some make, regarding those minerals you mine yourself. Each and everyone, costs ISK. As can be seen by the fact that I now cannot jump in to Eve and fill my hanger with a million of them (or even one) and not have my wallet flash. This is ignoring the fittings cost of course, which are also not free.

2. Freighters were not and never have been "not supposed to be vulnerable to frigate killers." They like all player owned ships in Eve, are open season when the chance arrives.

3. Gankers lose a ship, every time they suicide gank in Highsec. To say they are loss immune, flies in the face of that fact.

4. No Gank is guaranteed. So even if you discount the 100% risk of losing the ship, you can still lose. Either through the loot fairy not smiling down on you, or the freighter having friends help out, as well as other situations.

5. The odds of being ganked when we look at the statistics, are very low. If you take into account the places where most ganks occur, take precautions and fly with friends, the chances move into the realms of negligible.

6. People who lie and have a weak argument, tend to resort to name calling and avoid answering questions directly.

Now if anyone can refute these facts in a sensible and none abuse way, then I'm sure we will be more than happy to listen. Big smile

You can have a battlecruiser with a ganglink to boost resist along with the freighter being tank fit to assist. If taking the freighter outside of highsec, you can jam the ships performing warp disruption. If the enemy comes in large numbers of destroyers, you can counter it with smartbomb battleships--and you can safely smartbomb the freighter for much less damage than what those destroyers will do to it in a few seconds. Alternatively, you can bomb the area around the freighter with stealth bombers, though that can be a bit slow for your needs.

If you have more people helping than it takes to perform those maneuvers, then your best bet is to stop trying to save the freighter and just divide the goods up between fleetmates, and have everyone fly a large industrial. With 25+ fleetmates, you have a whole freighter load worth, and it'll travel faster, too.
