I just got a new computer with following specs:

Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-Bit
CPU: Intel Core i7-5950HQ 2.9GHz
Memory: 24GB DDR3L
Storage: 1TB HDD + 256GB SSD
Optical Drive: Blu-Ray Burner
Graphics Card: Dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M SLI
Video Memory: 16GB GDDR5
Graphics Driver: NVIDIA Graphics Driver 353.30

I have played lots of other games with no issues, and I have used GPUz to monitor the GPU temp which never goes above 50c and another tool that came with the machine to monitor the CPU temp which never goes above 60c. So I am pretty confident that it is not an overheating issues. Especially since this only happens with Eve, and it happens much faster when the Eve client is not the primary applications. For example when I have Eve up and running, but I have a browser Window open and I am checking things in the browser.

Additionally this happens very quickly when I have 2 Eve sessions going, my main and an alt, even if one of them is just sitting in a station doing nothing.

I have tried setting 'eve.exe', 'evefile.exe', & 'launcher.exe' to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode, I also tried the "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" for each of these files. This had no effect on the issue that I can identify.

I have also tried using the launcher to run Eve in DirectX 9 mode instead of DirectX 11, this also had no effect at all.

Is there anything else that I can try? I bought this laptop with the hope that it would make my Eve experience better than ever, however so far Eve is the only thing that I cannot really play or run on it.

Same here...

Specs:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits
CPU: AMD FX-9590
RAM: 32gb DDR3 @1866 mhz
Storage: 256 SSD + 2 TB HDD
Graphics: Sapphire R9 270x
PSU: EVGA Super Nova 850w

I also checked temperatures, PSU, etc, etc... and no luck.

Only happening with EVE, other games like CS:GO are unaffected.

EDIT: This is happening since a few days ago. I've been playing EVE, even with 2 accounts at the same time, a long time ago with no issues.

Well glad to hear that I am not alone, and if this just started happening to you then maybe it isn't my new computer, but something in one of the recent patches.

It would be nice if there was some kind of response to this from anybody at all, but I guess the devs are too busy to even give us something to try.

I hope this gets fixed soon or I will have to take my 3 accounts and my buddies 2 accounts and go play Borderlands or something.

Quick update for those that have a similar issue and come across this post.

I got the issue resolved!

Like I said this is a new system and there are many "performance" enhancing features and programs on it. So I disabled all of them at startup and rebooted the machine, then I launched my multiple Eve clients and patiently waited for the system to freeze. In the past this only tool 5-15 minutes, but after waiting over 2 hours everything was still running stable.

So the issue I was experiencing is part of one of these programs installed by MSI to make things faster and smoother, but which one? I started enabling the programs one by one till I got a freeze and then disabled each of the most recently enabled apps one at a time and pinpointed the culprit.

MSI Super Charge! This app enabled one of the USB ports on my system to output a higher amperage so that it can be used to charge external more quickly than a normal port, but it was freezing my system during gaming sessions. I don't know if this is because I had my mouse plugged into that port or what, but I have uninstalled that program and my freezing situation is completely resolved.

So any of you out there that might experience this same issue check your running program list, and if you have MSI Super Charger try disabling it and see if that helps.

Cheers!
