OK, so after having found out that the Mittani put me on the front page of this article.

https://www.themittani.com/features/alod-failfit-roundup

And in response to the points that were made, i feel as if I have to defend myself.

#1 How can you tank a ceptor against a loki?
#2 I hadn't even loaded grid when I got popped.

All in good fun though, thanks for the free publicity.

Not with warp core stabs.

You should really hire a space lawyer for this kind of thing. Allow me to recommend a few experienced players that may be able to help you turn this into isk.

nothing you can do really unless you have insta-undocks or undock in your pod to see whats outside first

The "load grid" comment means you jumped into Jita and then died I take it? Compared to undocking and getting volleyed because you had no instawarp for the undock.

Interceptors can evade being caught by getting their alignment so low it warps before anything can lock it. In order to do that, you need to fit inertial stabilizers (instead of warpcore stabilizers). Its not entirely foolproof since geographical location influences the speed of datatransport over the internet.

Besides, you're not the "Kadet" guy in that article. You feel bad, look at those fits. Guaranteed self-esteem boost :)

That website strikes me as a place that does not want all the facts or details, just enough to draw in the readers.

1) You don't. Instead, you avoid Lokis via sub-2 second align times and instant-dock and instant-warp bookmarks.
2) You warped directly to station, I assume? Should have used an instant-dock bookmark. If instead you were undocking and loading grid took longer than your invulnerability timer, you need a better computer and/or better Internet connection. Try lowest graphical settings, and pre-load your entire shared cache.

I have an almost alod worthy fit of a megathron, although cheap I can explain why I did it.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

The truth is if you died people will laugh, tanked or untanked, skilled or unskilled, lucky or unlucky. This is the way of things these days to shame everyone and everything and then to take offense if they in turn get offended, point and laugh and call your friends to also point and laugh.

In the end its all about odds, irregardless of tank or ability, it all comes down to a dice roll and the lovely RNG of success or failure. You can tip the odds slightly but youll still hit or miss based a good part by them.

But in the end there will be someone that will flame you for it. They flame because your too successful, because your too stupid in their opinions, because you dont do things like them. And even if you do they still will to gain dominance, control or to make themselves feel better about themselves. The psychology of the hater has been around for a long time both in game and out of game.

So no matter what you do people will hate you for it. This is humanity at its core. I wouldnt worry about it if I were you. This time they got you, next time they might not, or you might get them.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

ALOD: Failfit Roundup by FearlessLittleToaster

It’s been a slow week while i find a victim to show how much i can belittle them on the world wide web, i can't help but show my maassive e-peen at the ALOD desk.

Usually the fools and credit card warriors that ply the space lanes of New Eden reliably offer up a glorious gem every few days, but of late they have, quite frankly, been slacking. Faced with this drought of catastrophic incompetence, we have had to take extraordinary measures. Instead of a single glorious diamond of failure, billions of Isk compressed into a single hull of gleaming perfection by the idiocy of its owner and polished by the guns of the predatory, we instead offer a rollup of those who managed to be merely very, very, bad. As the saying goes, quantity has a quality all its own. blah blah...

I was going to keep adding more words to make very look very very bad. As the saying goes "quantity has a qaulity all its own" NO.. i didn't mean to say that, i was thinking more on the lines of "quality over quantity" , but then i got thinking about "Quality Street" it has Quantity & also has quality, so much so, that its streets ahead of the Milky Way. Well in my opinion, but then i also like Galaxy chocolate. Enough about me & whats very very bad for me. Feel free to give me some free "The Big Purple One"

First out the gate, after a wall of text to make my e-peen that much bigger i wanted to keep adding more, so i give you more 7 more....we have a great example of somebody almost getting it right. Yes, almost getting it right, remember that when turning right always ignore all road signs at a stop sign. Unless its painted with "follow the yellow brick road" , ops i went off track... i need to keep adding more words to make myself sound credible, convincing & other such words that share the same meaning,

There have been ALODs in the past where haulers were used to transport massive numbers of expensive blueprint copies. What made these ALOD worthy was the fact that blueprint copies have almost no volume so the vulnerable hauler was completely unnecessary. An interceptor could have easily carried them all and, properly fit, such an interceptor is basically invulnerable due to how server ticks work. It seems that Kestral Anneto only got half the memo.

YES we only got half the bloody Memo.. i think to myself as i write this wall of text. Such is life when i wonder, gaze, glare, pick boogies & other such things to pass time. To get people to read what i type & actually get them to believe what i say is the truth. Mean while reading all of this back, the correlation between my statistical studies & the boogie that just landed in my Tea rather upset my tangent, bloody went curving all over the place with this... at a given point (hidden pun was intended)

The other half was delivered by the guns of a single Loki when he undocked. when undocking always bookmark where you last decided to leave your Num lock Key. So you can enter a code for being such a plank. Then it looks cool in your typing memo...

The fact that Kestral bothered to fit warp core stabilizers shows, That they never watched a single episode of "The Brady Bunch Hour" as if this is even possible... I loved that show. if nothing else, that he at least grasped that mean space people wanted to kill him. However he failed to grasp basically anything else about how ganks work (because clearly i can read minds) and therefore he exploded all over my...

Note that the actual loss is lower than the Isk total shown here as zkillboard typically overvalues blueprint copies. Reminder maths is something many people will never understand & that when they read this wall of text it will show them that i can acknowledge what other are thinking & able to interpret into a quantifiable logic. Yes i managed to write a entire wall of text on how i took out a single ship that i never even glanced a shot at, let alone target locked. Please like my page & keep coming back to read all this stuff i feed you. Please leave your wise words after the beat.... Ugh

Please feel free to write a wall of text about me, when you blow my rather bling fit space gizmo into a wreck with your words of wisdom, i look forward to your long wall of text. I will frame it next to my "I don't give a hoots, socks or boots" wall of fame. I did like your writing style it does have depth, just like a black hole.

EVEBoard ...Just over 60million skill points, each skill was chosen for a reason. I closed my eyes & clicked another skill to train... "BINGO...!!!" ... "This time i got something usefull"

If you lack an instaundock bookmark, you get out in your pod to create one. No one will catch your pod unless you're daft. Get a ship, warp around, create bookmarks. It's always possible to create one by hand.

As it was Jita 4-4, you could have instaundocked to Planet IV - Moon 1, which is almost perfectly aligned. You could also have fitted for max speed. The invulnerability timer would give you lots of time to float forward, so you can try to run off with a heated mwd.

Also, don't fit warp core stabs. Fit inertial stabilizers and nozzle joints. If you want to travel in an interceptor, use the ares. It can be fitted for huge speed AND short aligntime, plus if you really need it add a cloak onto it for random measures. Never not cloak your interceptor!

At first I was going to chew the mits for exploiting new guys.. But the writer did a good job of explaining why the fits where bad, and in some cases how to correct. So now I'll go back to my dinner.

So it wasn't a classy ALOD but completly fail fit? Not deserve an article then.

But are you going to learn from the loss? It may seem like a waste of time at first, but making those bookmarks is worth it in the end (With Jita I've something like 9 BMs so far, and could do with a couple more safes)

Don't be like that other pilot who was featured several times with truly mind-boggling fits each time.

The article demonstrates most of all that players are still not getting the right idea when it comes to fitting a ship to fully exploit its inherent capabilities.

We have mastery tabs that can help in determining which skills to train, and it take 18 months give or take to reach master level 4 even for a battleship (at mastery level 5 things get stupid, like shield skills for a hyperion for example).

But much smoke and shadow is left to how to fit a ship and for what purpose along the lines of said hull features and attributes.

Finally, if they can dig up a cyclone I lost in 2008, I would make it right into their Hall of Eternal Shame. Oops

Theory 1 - max align time (inertias)
Theory 2 - keep your sig and lock time low (nano fibers)
Theory 3 - keep your top speed low so you go to warp fast (Higgs)
Theory 4 - MWD + cloak trick.

I don't know.
