Is our universe a simulation? (Lore)

Some of my friends in the Federal Navy Academy used to tell me to "install my tin-foil cranial implants" about this theory - but I'm into the philosophies of Sedemihcra, an ancient Gallente philosopher - and he asked a mind-destructing question;

"What if the Universe is a simulation?"

Could you imagine if everything we take for granted - our spaceships, interplanetary empires, societies and cultures are all part of a computer simulation? Could you imagine if our entire universe is part of a computer simulation in someone's basement? Are our very actions and assets all tracked by some supercomputer that controls the whole universe?

Better yet, what if somebody - maybe a group of people - owns this machine and makes ISK or some other unimaginable currency of our very existence. If this is true, our Amarrian compatriots are right for suggesting there are such things as gods.

What do you think, fellow Capsuleers?

I can imagine most of this, and I think the odds of it being true is considerable.

How would you even know to begin with? What is actually real: Your body or your thoughts/consciousness?

If what you are saying contains even a little bit of truth,
Then even a simulation has to end... eventually...
and the illusion surrounding what is your 'life' will then be exposed for all to see.

Given enough time; all illusions and lies fall to the ground.

That's my thoughts on the matter...

This idea struck me a few days later...

Being a capsuleer, everything you already know is a simulation. (Hahaha, right? you're always in a pod.)

So the philosophical question that I now put forth to you is:

"Would this make you more than likely to pierce the veil of the illusion or just make you more susceptible to it?"
