I am, even though I was a little concerned that it was just going to be another Oblivion letdown. And even after reading a lot about it, I still felt like it was being over hyped. Until I saw these 3 videos of Skyrim gameplay. I think once it is released, Morrowind will no longer be my favorite of the Elder Scrolls series. The last video is the best one.

I am looking forward to a few years after its release, at the time I am sure mods and patches have made the game playable.

After being thoroughly disappointed with Oblivion, although I'm going to try and go back to it with a ton of mods, I'm a little less excited for Skyrim, but as the poster above me said, I will wait for mods to add more life and content to the game.

On the upside, I've been spending weeks, yes weeks =/, modding Morrowind to breathe life, realism, and content into the game. I think it's time to actually play the darn thing though Big smile.

If you'd like a mod list or something, please let me know. It's kind of lengthy.

Most definitely this.

I would definitely like a list. I have only played Morrowind on the X-box. To be quite honest, Morrowind is the only reason I bought and still own the X-Box, so if I get my hands on a PC version I will be able to unload the X-Box.

Hah I first bought it on Xbox as well, only to get it immediately on the PC when I heard about it.

I made a thread with all my mods on the Steam Forums. It's kind of lengthy, as I said, but I selected mods that only affect visuals, aesthetics, and realism. I try to update it regularly with new mods I find. Brorrowind, the graphics mod, is the most important aspect, but it takes a little time to get it running so be sure consult the readme. It's worth it.

You can also find additional mods over at Planet Elder Scrolls if you'd like mods that add new weapons, armor, quests, and so on. Check the Hall of Fame mods or Top Rated.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me as much as you want.

I'm waiting for some actual gameplay videos of third person combat. They keep hiding it for some reason.

I think the best improvement, based off what I've read, is how they have revamped the skill system. Skill tree's FTW!!! I also read that it is going to have more of a real economy, well more real than oblivion. For instance, if you destroy the local lumber mill, then there will be a shortage of wood items in that area, or you could alternatively go and chop down trees and get lumber for the mill to boost production and what not. And the NPC AI is supposed to be greatly improved....hopefully.
Speaking of the NPC AI brings back fond memories of playing Morrowind, running around with nothing on, going up to random people and them saying something like, "Oh, your naked."

Good collection of info from another forum's off topic
http://mmo.catacombs.com/showthread.php/1591-Skyrim-Information-To-Date?highlight=skyrim

I'm liking the style of the game, but Oblivion didn't hold me very well. I was quickly tempted to cheat and slaughter everything because the raw gameplay leaned too hard on the RPG side and wasn't actually 'fun' combat in and of itself. Dark Messiah of Might and Magic for example had much better combat of the same type IMO.

I'll probably wait for Skyrim's price and hype to drop a bit, then try it and see if it's better than Oblivion.

I will be buying this game as soon as i can after release, loved Elder Scrolls 3, thought 4 was a let down due to the very short main story... hope 5 is way better.
