Where do we lodge a complaint?

The beta map is *horrible* for scanning (imo of course). How do we get the ears of the developers on this item before it is the only map available?

I've dropped this in here because scanning is such a critical part of living in W/H space - if this should be moved to a different forum, please do so ISD.

A doughnut pointer is an utter failure - give me an arrow like all other programs on the planet where we need to "point at something" please.

If anybody has suggestions on how to use the beta map for scanning successfully, please drop hints here. I'm willing to adjust my methods if there is a way to do so, but right now it is a flaming bag of .... on the doorstep.

You have to remove a few items on the map. I'll check which later.

My only major concerns right now is that I can't see au distances from where I am relative to whatever planet I hover over. I don't know if it's in settings. Also the map doesn't update when I jump wormholes.

I'll take a closer look. I currently use both maps.

Yaay!!!!

1. i absolutely hate the scroll smoothing. Would be nice to have that disable-able.
2. I really dont like the color palate. it looks pretty but for its function its legit hard to find active systems. Everything seems to be another shade of bland.

I like the Beta Map. :(

Though I agree seeing AU distances would be nice.

I am honestly willing to be convinced I'm wrong in my thinking here. Pax... how do you scan with that g.d. round pointer? Or is there an option to make that an honest to goodness pointer that I've missed?

The best part about the new map is that you can turn it off. Blink

The guy who designed that thing obviously never finished the probing tutorial or even set a foot inside a wormhole.

Yes indeed, we can turn it off *for now* - that's where the problem lies, beta leads to live unless we can convince them of the error of their ways (or they or anybody else can teach us to use the tool the way they envision.)

The Devs, they don't venture into these here parts to often.

^^This. I really like the fact the devs in eve will talk with players and get feed back, it's one of the best things about ccp and I've not came across another game that has this level of communication.

However this is the wh forums and they never come here, ever, because they don't really give a flying **** about wh space, not even little and this as a customer makes me a sad panda 🐼

I don't need twitter. I'm already following you.

Mostly I miss seeing distances to planets etc while in the map. Makes making an off Dscan safespot super annoying to do.

Also your position on the map when warping around now updates every second rather than continuously, which, while probably more accurate, looks terribad

One thing. They need personalized filters for what the map shows you in system. Not to be mistaked for the scanning filters.

Been toying with it just now and it's way better than the old one, just need to adapt a bit to it.

Bob Artis, you will be missed.

It certainly has the potential to be massively better than the old map. I really love that its a separate window than can be sized to whatever. I like to keep it up when I'm rolling around K space so I can easily see the layouts of the systems around me. If I could stack it with other windows and easily go from stacked to full screen with a button click it'd stay up all the time for me.

It really just needs a dev or two to spend a week or so on it really cleaning it up to make it shine.

Corbexx and Chance Ravinne, whats the likelihood you could poke CCP about getting someone on cleanup duty for the nu-map?

He's responded to EVEmails I've sent him over CSM stuff (Getting POS fuel calendar events added to the Gate calendar), entirely possible he'll respond to this. Just because someone doesn't spend every waking moment responding to every forum post in 100% agreement with you doesn't mean they aren't an avenue to go through to get things fixed.

I have to agree with the op that round pointer is no good. That can improve.

Actually it wasn't with out trying, a few had there apps rejected back in the day.
I think they mention once or twice that wh background checks where not like other areas of the game.

Black background, proper cursor, no inertia, au ranges and minimum size for that draggable probe marker and I'm sold.

The new Beta Map is horrible, I am glad I can turn it off and I hope CCP is gonna remove it or change it completely because it's a piece of junk right now.

So been forcing myself to probe using the new map. It can be done (I now use it over the old map). A few items need to be adjusted.

We need au distances listed from our current location when we mouse over an item.

Instant updates when we are warping around the map (should see myself smoothly warping across)

Dragging is still a issue if you get hung up on a overview item.

I would enjoy a directional view showing which way my ship is looking (preference thing).

The map needs to update when we jump holes.

Yaay!!!!
