WH Relic sites

Hi guys,

Following on from an earlier post titled "lost for things to do on Eve" in which I received some great advice, I am now operating in WH Space \o/ this after been a "carebear" for over a year. I even managed to get my first PVP kill when someone attacked my Stratios and I had my two alts cloaked near by Twisted

Anyway, I feel I must be doing something wrong as I have found numerous relic sites and all I am managing to procure from said sites is wreckage that I can easily get in my Noctis from salvaging lvl 4s? I did find a site that was crawling with Sleepers so I warped my Rattlesnake in, killed them all and hoped for great items... nup wreckage again. The sleepers varied in loot from 400k - 1 mil each...

I then expanded my WH experience and begin warping into WHs located in WHs. Still nadda Sad

Am I doing something wrong? I believed Relic sites in WH space to be highly lucrative yet all I find is damn wreckage! Am I to start my own scrapyard in Eve?

Many thanks in advance

In they site are floating cans, or vaults, you shoudl see them on yoru overview. You need to analyse them with an analyzer, its best to use a st ratios or Astros to do this. You will find stuff you can use to make T3 blueprints in them.

But you have to hack or analyze the cans depending on the site you are in (data or relic.)

I have both the relic and data analyzers fitted. I find the Relic sites quite easily and hack them but the loot I receive is appalling. Next to no ISK value and certainly not worth the effort to locate and hack these sites

depend son what you are looting.

Data Cores are small iskies, but you use them to invent T3 stuff.

The wrech peices get you ok money but again... use them for t3 stuff.

your best bet is to go and make t3 compnets which cna net you anywhere form 1m to 10m profit per peice, or sell them all peice mill.

Worm Holes are divided into classes, like you have High Sec, Low Sec and Null Sec.

Worm Hole classes 1 to 6, the higher the number the more valuable the loot, the more dangerous the sleepers.

This might help you - https://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/35itl4/wormhole_pve_spreadsheet/

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Relic sites with pirate names in the title (serpentis, angel, etc.) are usually fast to do and can yield 5-65mil/site. It's the same sort of wreckage you get salvaging ship wrecks and used for rigs, but it's ok money.
Relic sites with 'forgotten' in the title have sleepers and cans. Most of the cans are not worth salvaging, save the ones called 'talocan whatever' which can drop T3 hull artifacts that can be reverse engineered into T3 blueprints. Based on the size of the artifacts and their poor sell value, it's not really worth it unless you want to get into T3 production, which is very SP intensive.

Thank you for the replies Lol

That link / spreadsheet will be very helpful, thank you.

So am I understanding correctly that WHs have ID tags that denote their classification and essentially I have to keep scanning them down until I find the class I am looking for ?

I would rather not take my Rattlesnake but it's the biggest ship I currently own, would a Gila suffice? I am currently training towards Cruiser 5 (Caldari) if that helps.. I have high missile skills (min level 4 on all missile affilated skill - explosion radios etc etc)

Many thanks again

Basically, yes.
You can look up a systems class e.g. here. That site also tells you which class the static wormhole connection of that system will lead to.

Every w-space system has at least one "static" connection, meaning there will always be a connection to a certain system class.
C1 and C3 always have one k-space static. C2 has one k-space and one w-space static. C4 has 2 w-space statics. C5 and C6 have one w-space static.
On top of that there are random "wandering" wormholes. C5-C6 only get k-space wandering holes, C4 doesn't have any wandering holes and C1-C3 have w-space wandering holes. (excluding frig sized connections, which are mostly useless anyway)

Maybe that information will help you find your desired class. Blink

I don't know much about shooting sleepers - so I'll leave that part to others to explain - but AFAIK a Gila can do up to Class 3 sites.

Sleepers can be very nasty. They nuet and Remote repair. So even with enough tank you can easily be in the case where you can't break their tanks. Some sites in C5+ can't be run even with a Vagur or Golem. So check your sites! Oh and failing to hack a something can result in a spawn IIRC.

Also blue loot is well worth it in higher class WHs. Salvaging wreaks gets you fused nanoribbons. They have recently crashed a bit in price, but are still worth a bit. However i wouldn't use a notictis these days. A MTU + destroyer with salvage rigs is safe and for the most part faster.

AKA the scientist.

Death and Glory!

Well fun is also good.

For someone "operating in WH space you know surprisingly little about your habitat. For example you should most definietaly know what class of wormhole you are operating in and that the class is not shown in the ID tag. Otherwise you would not need to scan down every sig.

Finally you should know there is a designated wormhole subforum full of knowledgeable people.

Solo exploration in wormholes, you want to do only, ONLY the following:

Class 5 wormholes - Server Bank, Data Field sites. In Server Bank, primary isk is from hacking a talocan. In data field, primary isk is from hacking 10-12 cans that contain sleeper tech. Both sites are guarded, but you can do them, just leave last cruiser alive so as not to spawn next wave, then warp out with a warp stab.

The only other thing related to exploration in wormholes solo that you can do is ghost sites.

Also you can set up a farming hole, put up a POS, drive a dread into anomalies, blap escalation wave and warp off. But you need to know how to do that, and its not exploration, its farming.

Gassing is good money in class 5 and 6 wormholes.

Also you can try using a marauder in class 6 wormholes, Disassembler site wave 1 and wave 2 can be cleared with a high-end linked marauder, but it takes a while.

EDIT - dont use a rattlesnake, its a recipe for being ganked. For class 5 stuff, a cloaky tengu or a stratios is enough; all it needs to do is tank -40 cap, about 500-500 dps, and be cap-stable. A tengu is best ship. There is also a lol-fit, a passive-tanked nighthawk with cap injector and a MDJ, where you warp in with the nighthawk, sleepers cand do anything to it, you slow-boat to the talocan, hack it, then cap inject a big shot of 800, jump out and warp off without firing a single shot. It works, its just ********, and you need 2 varieties of cap chargers - small charges to keep the analyzer running, and a big one to fuel the jump drive at the end. But like I said, its a lol-fit, only if you hav a POS nearby.

Fit a cloaky tengu, refit it for combat in a safe with a depot, go do the site, refit for hacking, hack, loot, warp off.
