ok. it looks like I need to find a way I flying to low/null with a cov-ops ship that does not get locked.
so far I have loses: 3 cov-op frigs , 3 falcons , 2 blockade runners. I am running in to insta locks setups.
I have ran out of ideas of how to counter them. ideas well come.

however you might be ok just learning the mwd trick in a bomber or avoiding the systems you die in, its really hard to catch covops ships even with insta-lockers

The way server ticks work, you can align and hit cloak the same tick to drop gatecloak for immediate covops cloak. The only way to die is to mess up the cloak, or to get decloaked - which shouldn't ever happen in a mwd-fit covops.

Don't fit mods that increase your sig radius either, shield extenders for example.

ok is there a way of reducing your sig radius. I was thinking about putting some ecm drones in my drone bay to see if that would help. what do you think?

Four things are important, lowest sig radius, good cloaked speed or resistance to bubbles and cloak.
Yacht thing is very good, also bricked+nulled+cloaky proteus is very good to avoid getting smartbombed on gate.
When using MWD+cloak trick, press cloak first and then press MWD and don't hit cloak again if you don't get "couldnt cloak warning" or you will decloak yourself. Soemtimes when you are getting "insta" locked there is 1-2 sec delay on your cloaking icon until server decides if you cloaked successfully and people press cloak again in panic just for server to decided you are uncloaking yourself.

I zip around low/null in a Raptor and have only lost one in four months. The one I lost was using a different fit that didn't utilize a warp core stab. Switched out one of my inertial stabilizer IIs and put a warp core stab I on. Haven't come close to getting popped yet. Also, max all the things (that provide agility).
