Is there a way to control music now that Jukebox is gone?

I'm on Windows 10 preview and audio from outside of Eve stops for some reason when I open Eve up. No problem, I thought, I'll just use Eve jukebox. Nope.

I've tried alt-tabbing and deleting windows 10 and going back to windows 8.1 but it didn't work because I don't want to alt-tab or go back to windows 8.

So is there a way for me to play and control music in-game or is this mutually exclusive for me for now?

Unfortunately there's no way to control the music in-game anymore other that adjusting the volume or muting it completely.

Still never understood why CCP removed the jukebox feature. It was IMO one of the really cool things about the game that at the time when I started playing set it apart from other games that forced their, sometimes terrible, soundtracks at the player.

Reminded me a lot of playing old school C&C Red Alert and listening to the song Hell March on repeat while swarming my enemies with tesla coils, mammoth tanks and flame towers.

Since my fav toy was ripped from the client, I've resorted to bluetooth speakers on my android tablet. Not better, but... ugh

Switch the Music slider bar to 0 and back to 100. It'll change the IG song that is playing (if not in null or WH space).
Works fine enough for me, if I'm actually listening to the IG music.

The Jukebox was always so terribly glitchy for me, I was never really sad to see it go.

What she said. Muting, then turning on the volume again will shuffle the tune being played unless it's procedural music (null and WH). Of course, shuffling in highsec will let you know which 4-5 tunes are on the "soundscape" list of that system, and that will be all forever and ever until you think that you're flying your ship from an elevator or a youtube video.

Thats it.
Download a Player like "foobar". (free)
Get the EvE tracks from Soundcloud or else.
Create playlist, press play
use alt tab.

With a little more effort you modifiy foobar (chosen player) keyboard shortcuts to unassigned keys to control player in eve.

CCP will not add the jukebox again. Its a waste of programming time, adding more possible problems, than its worth, when there are tons of professional solutions.

External player stops in W10?

hah that's exactly what I'm saying about the new system. Even more so since most people just turn it off now, so even more of a waste to maintain it. Now compare what this is to say GTA, a sandbox with a sound/music system that helped make the game franchise what it is. The fact is undeniable.

But to the OP, like I mentioned, I'd say get an android device or something. Then just do what I do now which is just turn off sound in EVE. I don't think CCP ever developed this game to really get awards for it's audio, sadly.

RIP Jukebox - a Great Loss.


I knew each theme's name by heart, though the current design is curious and even immersive, as the sound scene completely changes to subtly, and in a very refined way, relay the change in the Security Status of the System you are currently in.

Is RealX still with CCP? You're ze best since 2004 & Forever Eternally - as far back as my memory can take, which began on the 12th of June, 2004-YC106 at 13:24 EVT sharp. Cool
