Cannot download client. EDIT: Can now download but will not install :(

I upgraded my OS today to windows 7.

i cannot seem to download the client, I have tried to download the client, which does not work, i have tried to do it manually by downloading the 3 separate files, and on 5 occasions it just says, " interrupted" and cancels. I have spent all day doing this and it will cancel at different points, just now at the 2gb point.

is there an alternative way to download the client as i am loosing patience.

Update:

Well I have managed to download manually , the 2 payloads and the installer, but it will not fail at the very end of the installation.extraction point with the message

Archive extraction failed: 3

When you say you have tried to download the client the first time do you mean using EVE_Premium_Setup?

This should work and will save it's download progress as it goes, so if you lose conection your download isn't interupted, you just need to restart the setup.

If this really doesn't work and you need to download manually perhaps trying 'firefox' or another browser may help.

Should that not work, I'd check that you can download some other random big file, if this fails perhaps there is an ISP problem.

The above reply has some good suggestions.

Also,

If a different browser or using the premium download doesn't work,
make sure all browser and windows updates are current.

-AV
-.Netframework

Throw your IE by the window and get Firefox or Opera, they rocks.

It is funny how threads like this get over 500 views and nearly 100 posts (with quite a few of them being devs) in just a couple hours, yet threads where people are actually trying to get help with the game only get a few views and a couple responses, none of which are devs, in almost the same time frame.

Download payload1&2 and unpack them to your game folder.

I managed to download the 2 payloads & the installer, no issues, BUT when I run the installer it will get right to the end of extraction and then gives me this message

Archive extraction failed : 3

I have now downloaded the 2 payloads 3 times, it took a very long time yesterday to do this, and I really do not want to download them all again for it to not work.

Is there a torrent of the full Cruciblebuild I can download or something?

If you install 7-Zip you can simply extract from the archives without relying upon the executable.
Additionally, the SHA1 checksums for the files are as follows:

Payload 1 hangs at 75%, Payload 2 at 81% from the links you posted. Any ideas?

...tried on multiple computers with the same results.

No suggestions; those links map to our content delivery network, which is provided by Level 3, so I don't really know what to suggest. I'll ping one of our Ops group and see if they can suggest something.

Thanks Atropos. I even tried to download different builds with similar results. It's entirely possible it's on my end but I've downloaded numerous multi-gig files (SWTOR cliet which is 26gb) with no problems.

I have absolutely same problem. EVE instaler doesnt worked for me. Then i tryed to manualy download the files. It wasnt easy but finaly i managed to download them. At first instaler worked just fine but then i got the same message as mention above
Archive exctraction failed : 3. I download the 3 files 4 times now. Same result each time. Strange is that there is no report about broken archive or interupted download. Files seems to be the right size. I am using Win 7 ultimate. Firefox and etc. I have the exact same set of software on my desctop pc. And there was no problem instaling eve, but now when i am trying to set it up on my laptop ... fail agony and missery ....
Would rly appretiate and advice.

@Soulltaken,

If you have a working copy of Eve on your main PC you could, if you either have them networked or have a big enough flash drive, copy the complete Eve folder over to your laptop.

Once copied over go to \CCP\EVE\bin\DirectX and run DXSETUP.exe to install the required files.

Now you just need to make a shortcut to the eve.exe in the \EVE folder on your desktop and you should be good to go.

If you find the shortcut does not work then directly double click the ExeFile.exe in the \bin folder to start eve without the launcher (not supported by CCP but works for many until the launcher is fixed)
