Changes to Smartbombs?

It seems that there was recently a change in how smartbomb apply there damage to players that just finished a warp.

It used to damage them while ending there warp and afterwards, but now they do only damage in the warp phase. After a player droped out of warp he is invulnerable to the damage of smartbombs for like 5-10 seconds if he dosen't move.

As there was nothing announced in recent Patchnotes I wonder if this is a intended change or maybe a bug.
