When will the BCs & BSs get rebalanced?

Hello everyone. Cutting to the chase, I'd really like to know if anyone knows when the BCs and BSs are getting a rebalance? If so, does anyone know what type of rebalance treatment these forgotten ships will be receiving?

I for one noticed a decrepit ability in the BSs cap recharge rate which is practically non-existent even with multiple cap mods & rigs on the things. (Abbadon, Navy Apol, Hyperion)

Warp speeds are horrendously slow and can put you to sleep if having to travel 10+jumps. (All)

Not enough pwg or cpu to fit the best weapon system to make full use of the ships capabilities (Maelstrom).

These are just the tip of the iceberg as I'm sure there are tons more defects these ships are plaque with since I hardly see them around anymore (mostly all you see now are Faction BS & Marauders).

In a nutshell I'm try to decide if it's worth it for me to continue training into them or should I ignore these helpless relics of the past and train into Marauders.

there's like a 20 page thread all about battleships on the front page. Roll

imo the only thing bs could use is a bit more warp speed, 2 au/s is painful

For BCs, just flip them all vertically and turn them all into ABCs.

I saw that thread, BUT I'm asking if anyone knows when they're supposed to be rebalanced and when. If not then I know to look elsewhere to train.

It's coming, we just don't know when. You haven't trained at all? Likely we will know or it will be done by the time you get your skills up pretty solid into marauder, black ops or pirate factions. Nothing stopping you, not all the BS' are broken. The next general fix is missiles, so those battleships with missiles should benefit. I know they have been looking at black ops, early stages, certainly needs work there. Navy and pirate is generally nice. Marauders have seen some luv in recent times. But yeah, some have gotten some work, just not everything yet.

  • Listen dear, I know how to train okay. ALL my armor, shield tanking, all support skills, navigation, are just about maxed with some decent drone skills ( 20.5 mill SP atm). I'm at a crossroad on whether to train for the Paladin or other T1 BS's, hence the thread.

Yep, I have no issues with the battleships I fly, can't speak for them all though. The only thing solid I've really heard is back last month on o7 show they were looking into black ops, though didn't sound like a priority. But they are looking into doing something as they figure it out, admitting that they need work.

In fact I've been flying faction battleships for years, but recently been using T1's again since they do get the job done especially if you have good skills. I fly caldari and amarr, I can't think of anything really wrong there, especially for caldari with the new mod coming since I do have a bit of an issue with missiles, at least in some respects, not overall. But I have hybrids and lazors too, so whatever.

I don't see what the issue with slow warp is, beats coming up short often like with some smaller ships. Sit and wait in the middle of nowhere hah. As for "cap stable", that's more for AFK mission running, really not needed when you can train up for cap boosters and be at your computer, get things done faster.

Depends for what. I don't have Paladins, so I'm not the best person to ask for specifics on that ship doing what. I assume for missioning/ratting, yeah they do fine there if you are applying them correctly. Even a CNR is really overkill for anything lvl4, and well suited for t1's. Then again, you would be better off hitting wormholes with it, right? That is probably more your plan going for marauders, or joining in on some incursions... though I'm at a total loss of intel on armor fleets there currently. I know some shield fleets will take Golems, but not as abundantly due to missiles.

Are marauders worth the time? I believe so. I don't have one trained, but I do currently have one active in my skill que starting in about five more weeks. Paladin specifically? If you research things like me, I don't think you will get all the answers from a single thread. But even in that, I didn't research Paladins all that much compared to others which was extensive. Considering it's three months for you, you may want to find some in depth intel on the ship, also search through youtube stuff etc, and get what answers you can get out of forums. It's not that you can't get answers here, but just that you need to ask the right questions, if you know what they are.

You're quite shrewd as you pic depicts Webvan and yes you are correct, I'm looking into training for the Paladin for C4 WHs. No point in wasting SP for them otherwise as they are way to overpowered to be used to their fullest capacity in Hi-Sec. At the same time I'd probably cry when someone ganks me in my beautiful Paly, so I thought to brush up on my skills first by using a throw away ship like T1 BSs. I also discovered that to be able to do WHs (for T1 BS that would be C3s) that a ship needs to be around 50% cap stable and be able to tank 1k dps for BSs. It was a much more difficult task then I imaged using Pyfa, as those ships have next to no cap sustaining ability. My skills are all there as someone in this thread disputed (which was false). I heard talk about the T1 BSs getting a balance pass soon and I just wanted to know when that was, because they definitely need it ( cap recharge all of em please CCP).

Hmm well, I'd suggest testing it on sisi before starting the training, but I think it's coming up on 4 or 5 weeks left for this mirror. Even if you hit every mass test for bonus SP, you would likely come short on 3mo worth of training here. And they just did a mass test, so no telling how many are left. Something to consider in the future though.

My current favourite battleship, fairly skill intensive though so you're going to want to have solid turret support skills.

There is nothing inherently wrong with BC or BS, and certainly not what's listed in the OP (which just reads as a "I don't know what I'm asking for"). One could argue for faster warp speeds but even that is just QoL, not really a balance issue.

Paladin has been my favorite ship more or less since it came out. If it wasn't for the agility and warp speed on the mach I would probably only fly a paladin. great now I'm tempted to warp speed rig and agility fit a paladin. Doesn't look too bad, but still loses a lot of warp speed vs the mach, not sure how much that really matters, looks like it might make up for that in damage projection.

note this is with mostly a pve spin on it, although PVP paladins can do some rather interesting things in theory. I would love to try some small gang MJD paladins. Solo I would be way too worried about small ships getting under the guns, but with a few extra ships sitting at 100km hitting with scorch I think it has the potential to be more interesting. I haven't done and pvp in a paladin since they lost the 90% web bonus.

My only real complaints about battlecruisers themselves is their agility. Otherwise my problem is more with cruiser hulls being extremely fast by comparison to basically everything except MWDing frigates.
