Step 1: Ignore problem until 11:29

Step 2: Run around like a chicken with its head cut off

Step 3: Locate issue

Step 4: Apply band-aid to hatchet wound

Step 5: Report it is fixed

Step 6: Find out from paying customers, it isn't fixed

Step 7: Report it isn't actually fixed

Step 8: Apply second band-aid

Step 9: Server boots

Step 10: A dev actually checks to make sure it is up this time

Step 11: Report server is up.

Rinse repeat daily

Well since we are on the topic of blinky lights not blinking, perhaps the devs can read us a story about the cluster? I am genuinely interested in the gears of the machine. I think it would be fascinating to hear about where data packets go after they leave my router.

Every time i'm at home, waiting for the DT to complete (which happens 2 or 3 times a year), the whole thing gets screwed up.
