Incursion states - what does trigger them?

Hey.

Incursions have three states established, mobilizing and withdrawing (started, running, ending respectively) - that much is clear.
And it is clear to me that TDF/BTL try to kill moms once an incursion goes into withdrawing - so the incursion can be farmed longer.

But what is not clear to me, is what triggers a change from established to mobilizing, and mobilizing to withdrawing.

Is it based on control? Is it based on time? Is it based on both? Is it based on a number of sites completed overall?

In particular I'm trying to figure out when the Agiesseson incursion goes to withdrawing.

To my knowledge it is all about time; if people do not kill off the mothership the Incursion will dissappear by itself after some days. 3-4 is my guess.

Hi Kadeyoo,

That is a very good question and even though we've been trying to figure this out since the very beginning we have yet to succeed.
Now I can tell you this:

What ever triggers an incursion to move to the next stage is dependent on time and participants of the pilots.
Simply put, if no one engages the incursion, Sansha forces are more freely to wander about and finish their operations quicker, hence that particular incursion will mobilize and then withdraw quicker. (that is the roleplay explanation)
However, if the incursion is participated in this seems to prolong the phase ...

The algorithm is unknown and could have variables that include constellation population, site finished, ship losses, time and that again could differ in regards to which faction the incursion is in (amarr, caldari, minmatar gallente, etc. etc.).

You are very welcome to try and figure out the timer, this could be dependent on each constellation as well. So a certain constellation will always have X, Y and Z time from established -> mobilizing and mobilizing -> withdrawel.

best regards
