Tears because my account got banned

I tried to log into one of my accounts yesterday to discover the password wasn't working. After spending a while troubleshooting this I ended up trying the 'forgot password' feature which ended up with a message saying that I can't access the page because the account has been banned. This is the only way I know the account has been banned though. Logging in just says 'invalid character/password' and I've had no communication of any kind from CCP.

It doesn't look like the account is hacked -- all assets are intact and the character hasn't moved, quit corp, etc. All my accounts are squeaky clean and I've never done anything that would even be remotely suspicious in terms of rulebreaking, etc so I think this is likely to be a mistake of some kind. I created a support ticket using the website but was presented with a ticket number I can't use without logging in. I then made another one on a different account so I could update it but have had no response of any kind from CCP in over 24 hours.

I've been playing this game for over 7 years without being the subject of any complaints (as far as I know) and have spent a couple of thousand pounds in subscription fees over that time and I feel like I deserved better treatment than this really. At a minimum I think I'm entitled to a notification message saying the account is banned and giving a brief reason (instead of being left to troubleshoot to find out I was banned). Failing that I certainly feel like I should be getting a much more prompt response to my support tickets, even if this is just 'you were banned because *reason*, we're busy and will investigate later in the week'.

Having an account I've invested so much into get cut off abruptly with no explanation and no apparent recourse is extremely frustrating and right now I feel like the only thing I can do about it is stop giving them money by unsubscribing my remaining 3 accounts, which is what I've done today. Hopefully it will all get sorted out eventually but right now I'm too angry about it to enjoy playing anyway. It feels a bit like cutting off my nose to spite my face but if this is the way they treat long term subscribers then I'm done with the game.

Obviously I'd like to get it all sorted out. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to get it resolved?

And no, you can't have my stuff.

mmm, salty

You could try this support@eveonline.com, but petition is the way to go. Patience is required.

File a petition.

New Eden isn't nice. It isn't friendly. It isn't very hospitiable. Good thing there are people here to shoot in the face.

Want to make New Eden a nice place? Try this out.

Maybe CCP is just hinting you that some other (space) game might be better for you?

Have you checked for emails sent to the address you used to create the account?

Who put the goat in there?

Can't you survive more than 24 hours without that account while the ticket is processed? I mean, if you've been playing for 7 years shouldn't you know by now that these sort of things take time to sort out? Like three to four business days?

I mean, I've been in EVE for less than two years and I have realistic expectations of the service time for a ticket.

Yes, of course. Last mail is the monthly subscription renewal message. And no, it didn't go to spam either. I also made one of the tickets using a different (and unbanned) account so I know they haven't responded to that one at all.

Well taking 3-4 days to sort something out isn't really my problem. It's taking over 24 hours to even *start* sorting it out by acking the ticket and providing basic information. Is it really that difficult to send a 'your account is banned because *reason*' one liner. Even 'We will investigate and get back to you in 3-4 days' would have been fine.

The silent treatment is making me feel like a criminal, which is frustrating when I know I haven't broken any rules.

Nothing new there, happen to me before.

After a few days of harassing CCP they unban my account and never explain to me what happen in the first place.

Great thing was that the account that was ban in 2010, had a Wyvernon it during war-time back in 2010.

Been around since the beginning.
