What is the corax good for. It looks so cool and I want to use is but it seems to be a glass but doesn't even pack the most firepower ... Any clue?

It has a range bonus so it is useful for shooting things from range. As long as you are able to keep range it's tank becomes less relevant especially in PVE. It is useful for low level combat sites as well as level 1 & 2 missions. It can be useful in PVP but target selection is very important unless you have a large fleet of them.

Can do 183 dps out to 94 km, well outside tackle range before overheat.
Put a prop mod on it and keeping range isn't much of a problem

There just isn't anything that can be said!

Pve/Fleet ship. Solo pvp theyre pretty well useless. Probably the least used dessi in EvE and will stay that way unless they get point range bonus or something because they arent even particularly fast. Hitting to 94k isn't worth anything if you dont have enough of them to alpha ships off field. And that wont happen because its a Gallente trait. Would personally like to see more utility from all the dessi's. Neut bonus on dragoon is fairly decent but thats pretty much the only utility bonus in the dessi lineup. As much as some hate ewar, some kind of ewar in the dessi family would be an improvement I think.

The only use for the corax is annoying the entire Amarr undock with fireworks, and there by forcibly making my GPU scream at me for the next 10 mins.

Pretty sure that's the most popular fit anyways.

The Corax is a decent beginnger missile boat. Unfortunately the Corax is in fact slower than a plated Maller. It's terrible at tanking so tank should really be used as more of an afterthought on it, since it's a destroyer and thus its main role is to destroy frigates as efficiently as possible.

Optimal light missile Corax setup. I know it works because my good friend used it with massive success.

A lot of people will tell you the Talwar is better in every scenario, but that is simply not true. The Talwar can be better in some situations. It certainly has a speed advantage, and it also has a MWD signature radius bonus.

However, the Corax has something important that the Talwar is lacking, and that is a 10% bonus to light missile and rocket explosion velocity. This is important for applying damage against fast frigates, such as interceptors, which just so happen to be (or should be) the prey of choice for a destroyer pilot.

That's not to say the Talwar is bad, though. Both are great. But the Corax certainly has it's place as a cheap, effective frigate killer.

Things might get interesting once those Missile Tracking Computers and Missile Tracking Enhancers (or whatever they're called) get released too.

By the way, don't rule out rocket setups either.

It can be the tankiest destroyer with no fall off, optimals or tracking for a newbie to worry about.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

It is basically a frig and some assault frig brawler killer. Even with range bonus I do not recommend it for longer range, there are talwars, arty thrasher and coercers for that. I would use it around 10km range from your opponents with a web and scram fit (for solo ops that is).

I found the only good for one purpose - high slots with Festival Launchers. So you could have some fun on undock.
