I haven't had much interaction with GMs, maybe one or two tickets per year, and it's been great. I saw something, though, that made me wish EVE had a bit more flavor.

Basically this.

I'm just wondering if maybe GM responses could be more in-character, perhaps with a selection box for IC GMs.

OK I admit to being weird.
When I have to file a support ticket I simply do not care if the GM responds in character or with some kind of fancy language that is more in keeping with the game. All I care about it that they are polite and solve whatever the problem is.

If the GM can handle the problem and do so in a manor such as this they would get bonus points.

I find this to be a stupid idea. First off if you need a GM to fix something your "immersion" is long gone. There isn't any game mechanics that make "issues" immersible. I also am not a role player, i frown greatly upon it, as I simple can't stand being someone I'm not. I do my best to leave them alone, and I'm sure they do the same for me. Last thing I want is some GM trying to role play something that already has me annoyed/angry.

TRDL: GM messages should be to the point, helpful and respectful.

To be fair, he did explicitly say it should be an optional thing. Trade off immersion for response time. So, to each his own, I shan't be using an option like this but I support the idea in the spirit of potentially funny GM Responses Big smile
