EvE is the best overall MMO that I have ever played. I have played a hell of a lot of MMO games and I have never seen one, at least that I recall, besides EvE that actually pays attention to the community. They may not listen to what we say most of the time but at least the interact with us and give us some say in some matters. The CSM for example...no other MMO company has ever done that. Despite what you may think the CSM does have sway with CCP. Most other MMO companies would just flat out ignore the community or just tell you to shut the **** up.

Also...what other MMO company continually updates its game with newer graphics to stay competitive? What other company releases expansions for free? Most MMO games go out of business due to lack of subscriptions which is almost always attributed to another game coming out with better graphics and new gameplay. EvE may not have any direct competition in the space simulation category but it still has competition in the MMO genre and EvE has managed to stay on top with some of the best graphics in the industry.

Or, totally ignore you like your chin can't rise past the smooth granite wall.

Oh! Look! The new forum! Did y'all miss me? I missed you!

Good post Vyl. You're the smartest Minmatar I've ever met. That ain't saying much, but you can't help it.

It is not lost on me — it is just not applicable, most notably, since people are so upset about the whines that they have to add to them. So we are yet at that point.

As for greasing the wheel, blame CCP — they've cultivated that culture very nicely over the last few years, and they've grown an astounding reputation (that even they admit) of being positively lousy at communicating. Since squeaking louder is the only tool available, guess what people choose to do…

Again: the only way for reasonable arguments to be heard and to carry any weight with CCP is if they're riding on a massive wave of noise. That noise is not a problem — it's a necessity. All you're doing is creating counter-noise with no reasonable argument to carry forward.

Well, "Skipper." If you don't think there's enough criticism on this forum already...and you're saying I should grow up...sonny boy, you got a long way to go.

somebody does something that you dont like, you let them know.

somebody messes up something you liked and you were paying for, you bloody well make a loud noise about it

yes, i love EVE, but im not going to sit back and allow CCP to make changes that ruin it go unchallenged

Just because you pay a crappy 15 euro a month doesn't mean you have the right to force changes on a product.

If you don't like it, then don't buy it. Simple as.

CCP created EVE, they have developed it to what it is today. It's idiots on the forums forcing CCP to work on things that might not be their priority is the problem.

Let them finish Incarna and whatever else they feel they should because as the end of it all they own the game, you are just a customer and if you don't like it then either design your own game and play it on your own or put up, shut up and enjoy what you have.

My point exactly.

You gotta be careful reading my posts. I usually put a landmine in them. Had I been following my good ma's advice she wouldn't-a been boxing my ears so much. Constructive criticism is a good thing to say. Nobody in their right minds presents a production and tunes out feedback.

Getting caught up in a feeding frenzy and slinging baseless, and venal text isn't constructive criticism. Also, if you're really trying to effect change, a bit more organization is in order. No one can deny outrage outdistanced reason in all this. Whatever constructive criticism there was stood a fabulous chance of being buried by "YOU SUCK" and "get off my forum".

You can't marshal the unwashed minions into charging the barricades if you're busy sniping them. Though many people I seem to be at odds with are good at analysis and commentary, they suck at unifying diverse people into their cause. (Oops! I said "suck".)

This forum, imo, is a great sounding board for feedback to CCP, undeniably. Yet, it's also the place we're supposed to unify as a community and try to pull together. Making someone feel at home here isn't one of our strong points. That may not seem like much at first blush, but suddenly trying to pull together a crowd you've spent your time alienating is a fool's ambition.

Sure it's our sandbox. It's not our litter box.

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

While I was less than fond of the zero punctuation review for eve, Yahtzee actually managed to hit the nail right on the head, just in a completely different review.

CCP keeps coming out with great ideas, then ruining them via horrible implementation and a refusal to even LOOK at the problems presented by their poorly thought out ideas once they hit TQ. It's not a boxed game, you guys do know you can go and improve something after you've released it yeh?

If people don't complain, why would CCP even THINK to fix the myriad of problems floating around their game? One or 2 people complaining isn't the answer either, because then it looks like it's but a small minority who have a problem with the issues CCP refuses to address. If the general feel you're getting from these forums is that a large portion of the playerbase are pissed off about various problems within the game, would you not think that that would be a notably larger incentive for ccp to start, I don't know, FIXING those problems?

What can I say?
I poop where I play
I try to be good
I'm misunderstood

When I drop my load
My face all aglow
All the play ground
Lets out a 'ew' sound

But now I'm all sad
My friends are all glad
I've pooped where I play
It's gonna be a bad day

...don't say anything at all. This forum is already groaning under the weight of rampant and acerbic criticism. To read along one might get the idea this game sucks so badly it's amazing all the critics have played it at all, let alone as long as they have. Yet, we have, and there must be some reason why. Mea culpa. I've been in there tossing my BS-filled wit around with everyone else, but now I'd like to try to retrieve the baby before it goes out the window with the bathwater.

This is the best game, hands down, the best and you can deny it all you want you know it's true. CCP has designed something here, the artists, computer whizzes down to the stock clerk, that will stand in digital history regardless of how much the high and mighty "I can do better than this" screamers claim it's full of junk. The plain fact is, it isn't. It's a game with good integrity, unsurpassed graphics, thought provoking content, and artwork that is head and shoulders above the vast majority of other digital offerings.

After all the uproar on this forum about Incarna I began feeling like I was logging onto this horrendous waste of my hard earned dollar. I was looking for rapscallion ripoffs over both my shoulders and not really looking at what I was doing at all. So, I took another look with a fresh set of eyes. And, it's still there; the EVE that's grabbed my imagination since '07. It's beautiful. It's responsive. It's challenging. It's demanding, and rewarding, and as someone said just yesterday, "It's the game I hate to love."

Regardless of all the spiteful, hateful and downright ill-considered verbiage that has passed the past few months, in the main CCP you've done a stellar job, and I have every confidence you'll continue to do the best you can with our baby EVE. Yes, most of us whether we'll admit it or not, have adopted your creation as our own. It's our child. May its future be bright and expansive.

On Drugs, you are?

They have done, and continue to do nothing to fix all the major game issues. All the while spitting out new "Clothes".
If that's what turns you on in the game, I could care less. As I could care about the NEX store. As far as gameplay goes, they seem to be incapable of putting out a patch without having to patch it 5 or 6 times just to keep it from crashing.

But if all this is your idea of a job well done, I congratulate CCP, because the have you so hooked that you don't know what is happening...Shocked

OP tells people not to say anything if it isn't nice. Then says not nice things. Thank you for providing the perfect example of irony. I shall forever point to it as an example.

You may notice I said things in response to some rather not nice things said to me. So, on the one hand you say "speak up" then on the other you say, "keep quiet?" If you plant ice, you're going to harvest wind. And, if you've bothered to follow along closely enough to claim you know what's been said, you'd know the first line of the first post is something mothers tell their kids which the kids rarely heed. Therefore, you're intellectually dishonest and disingenuous. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

But, it's heartening that's all you could come up with to refute my original post. Seems a lot of the hotshots around here's oars aren't deep enough for the water.
