Hello again Zimmy

This "ransoms" are in no way bribes, on the contrary. It's just like with any other law enforcement, you first get a ticket for the law violation, if you fail to comply the officer may need to decommission your equipment.

Bribe : persuade (someone) to act in one's favor, typically illegally or dishonestly, by a gift of money or other inducement.

Well, that's what they always say. Baseless accusations and then nothing... there is not a single documented incident where a New Order Agent has decommissioned a vessel of an innocent citizen. But you rebels will never stop to spew this lies...

It would be a bribe to drop the top of course.

I cringe every time I read "An open letter to CCP."

Do you know how many whine threads have this name?

It would be 2 things, 1. my job. And 2. if you found it to be in your favor, then by the broad definition it would also be a bribe.

Oh those always titled "Dear CCP" followed with a solid brick wall of text 3-5 thousand words thick.

I fairness to the op, he seems to get it now after a getting the frustration out , which isn't how these threads usually go.

OP, EVE is a harsh place. I've ganked and been ganked. As others have said, you can either turn this into a learning experience or, better yet, go find a couple of games (few hours left on the Steam sale) and play those. I recently came to the realization that just about anything in my Steam backlog yields more fun than logging into New Eden.

Okay but what if you were a stripper and told you to drop that top for 100mill but I'd not actually like it because I'm gay but my mates at the strip club don't know and socially pressured me to do it??

It would still be in your favor, because I would be doing it for you, so you could be accepted by your peers.

Both his freighter and Orca probably had zero tank and were fitted with nothing but cargo expanders and/or astronomic mods.

If you had fit these ships with proper tanks, there's no reason why you wouldn't have survived until concord shows up. Both of those ships can be fitted with monstrous tanks that out-do battleships by a lot, allowing one to repel huge waves of gankers.

You used fail-fits and didn't take out insurance. Simple as that. I'm not going to go into my usual "paranoia is good" speech because I feel its something people should know by now.

This is pretty funny if only because of the ignorance on display.

No matter your tank you are completely gankable when traveling the trade lanes.

It all starts with a mach bumping you off the gate grid. A horde of catas arrive and shoot you. As the cata pilots wait out the timer they can bring a velator in to keep you in combat if need be. Also they can take this time to lure concord off grid for the next wave. So at this point even with max tank your ship is severely damaged. You can't warp and you can't log off. All you can do is wait for the next wave to appear to finish you off.

The only thing that you can do is bring a webber alt, or avoid the area.

Catalysts are dirt cheap to fit for +650 dps. For 96m (12 catas) you can easily do 234k damage to a target in .5 space. That can easily take down a max tanked obelisk in two waves. For a total cost of about 192m.

Well that corp did not deserve to live, honestly. Natural selection at work it seems.

And seriously, why come here at forums, there are other (space) games where you can play in solo or group modes (in Elite you can mine asteroids and haul them as much as you please in those modes, alone or in a group).

EvE is cut-throath game and sounds you would not have survived long, without having bigger friends, anyway.

And focus is not in PvE or mining, as it serves just as a means to get some funding for "action fun", you propably would not have liked staying here long with that attitude about losses.

Finn,

I'm surprised that someone who has played Eve for 2 years doesn't understand what many consider the first law or first fundamental rule of the game:

Never fly what you can't afford to lose.

Ganking, ransoming, bumping - it's all allowed and encouraged, and I would have it no other way. New Eden is a dangerous place, and even in High Sec, anything can happen.

I know you feel like you've lost everything. Like your corp is doomed. All hope is lost...but, in reality, it's not. You can take this as an opportunity to learn and grow. You won't make the same mistake twice.

I urge you not to give up this easily. Yes, you lost a great deal, but don't lose out on many more fulfilling experiences in the months and years to come.

I hope you don't leave the game, but if you do, fly safe - wherever you may roam.
