For the most part, faction/T2 boats are just more effective. If you can afford it - which pretty much anyone can - why would you not fly one?

I fly a lot of t1.

So do a lot of dudes that I fly with.

T2 and faction is great, when used by people who know what they're doing. Using t1 gear is smart if you are still learning because it drastically increases the number of times you can die before it starts to hurt the wallet. It also helps you understand the limitations of your fit to see where better gear, skills or drugs can be of use.

The more Faction/Pirate bling you fly, the more likely you are to rage quit when it goes pop.

Seriously, do not underestimate the T1 lineup. The secret really is learning what beats what and what you cant kill.

Kill the Worm in the Tris however, and I defy you not to grin like a fool as you go over the KM.

Well I just downed a Garmur and a Cynabal with my T1 destroyers. About 350m isk damage while risking 10m. I'm actually very happy with the abundance of high-value targets in low sec. It fleshes out the concept of asymmetric warfare. :D

edit: I spent all evening trying to come up with a T1 destroyer fit that'll destroy Jackdaws and T3 destroyers, but they are simply too strong.

Could be that Fozzie was right - NS is bringing so much ISK into the economy which get distributed between our populace and we're all capable of affording T2 ships...

Not everyone. A lot of people are flying T3s.

Moon goo is a business buddy fountain of free isk. DED sites have gone from a few static sites to hundreds scannable DED sites.

With these two changes it's only logical to fly T2/faction. This stuff is too cheap not to fly it.

Moon goo needs to go dynamic (and not locatable via data dumps) and the number of DED sites needs to go down. The prices will go back up to something that can be called valuable.

Don't get me wrong - 20 mil for a T2 web was pretty crazy back in the bpo lottery days, but when your gang loots a pvp wreck and the comment is "it's all T2 garbage" - I think it's time to make some changes.

I fly T1 BC's, does that count? T2 AF frigs are cheap (to me anyway) and still perform decently, assuming you stay away from T3D (depending on your fit). T2 cruisers are semi-rare in minny FW anyway.

I stopped flying cheap t1 stuff because it got very boring flying frigs and dessies all day. T1 minmatar cruisers aren't worth writing home about. Besides, with insurance on BC's I can fly a fully fit cane for about the same price as a cruiser.
