Taking down / destroying / blowing up a POS in High-Sec

For the casual advisers I have already read every chain on this subject back until 2006.

~ The Story ~

So after years of routine system scans suddenly someone locates a full sized Caldari Tower,
and tons of attachments that has been vacant for so long that the CEO doesn't even have a photo.

War was declared and CONCORD stood by and watched the largest tower in history erupt into
fireworks. When it blew up it was beautiful in fact.

We now have 8 Science Stations that can be unanchored and hauled or destroyed upon
anticipation of worth contents.

Question; Should we;

1) Assume the labs have no valuable contents like Original Blueprints (BPO) and scoop them
up to sell

2) Assume that they should have assets and destroy the station parts just to find out?

Take them back to station, repackage and the BP's poop out anyway

Nope, they don't.

if you are after ISK, unanchor them and sell them. If killmails, kill them. There's no BPC's coming your way if you repackage, and trust me, i've turned over 20 hisec POSs and never got a decent BP haul. If you do get a BP haul they are inevitably going to be BPC's which were in for invention and are essentially worthless.

Yes, they do.

Stuff in the lab gets destroyed, but BPOs in research drop when you repackage. I'd always repackage, as you get guaranteed loot (the lab), and a chance at BPOs. Blowing up is far more risky.

I've repackaged maybe a dozen labs over the last 3 years. Out of that, I got a couple capital parts BPOs, two BC BPOs, and I think some cruiser ones (along with a bunch of useless rig bpos and so on).

Interesting comments and once again I have read every thread related to this topic since 2006.

It always raises opposite opinions which often both seem to be correct.

"- mobile labs retain their contents after being unanchored. they can either be anchored at another POS to retrieve the contents or can be repackaged which will extract the contents"

That document is dated Sep 24th 2011. Has this changed?

I haven't done it that recently. But when you try to unanchor, you used to get a warning about the contents being destroyed. If you don't get that warning now, then it has been changed.

Nobody ever puts a bpo in a pos in high sec. The whole point of a highsc pos is for the bpos to always be safe in station. The best loot you can hope for is bpcs and decryptors for invention.

You, sir, are seriously overestimating the intelligence of eve players.

Roughly 50% of the labs I've repackaged have dropped BPOs, both in highsec and lowsec (where there is even more incentive to keep the bpos in station).

If the corp has been inactive for a really long time, it's not likely they would have paid the office fees though.
